If this is distracting to you, just expose it right to the sun for a few days.
Tried a bit, but don't have any good windows other than my car, and that heated the lens too much even wrapping the body in tin foil which I'd seen suggested elsewhere. Need to keep at it I suppose, maybe it'll work better now that winter is here.

I could imagine, that a UV-Lamp could do a good job too.

We are doing our best We need to find good deals to do all that testing at reasonable costs... Owning a few modern lenses is expensive too in my opinion.
Peire, why did you let the second one go? It's like getting 200€ for free
Having one copy seemed to be just allright in case of that lens.Besides I hate selling things on ebay, which would have been inevitable as In Poland no one would give me that much.

Bit the bullet on a Contax 35-70 3.4. I barely bring my Zeiss 24-70 2.8 anywhere because of the weight and size, but still wanted a high quality zoom. Trying to move away from my large A mount lenses, the a850 sensor is just limiting compared to the lovely a7r sensor, and the lenses are too awkward to use on the a7r even with a grip

I have an old Super Tak 50/1.4 that I have "rediscovered" now that I am part of the a7RII club. It was very yellow when I got it. Days on a summer window ledge and the flashlight helped cure most of that. There is still some color but I can live with it. Doing a quick custom light balance is the ticket before a photo session.
I have all kinds of lenses at several price points. My beat up old Super Tak is a joy to use. Small size, great feel on the all metal focus barrel, silky smooth focus action, etc. Wide open it is sharp/soft in a nice way. Simply lovely at 2.8 and very sharp at 5.6 & 8, etc. I have my a7RII's focus peaking set to low with red. Manually focusing this and other older alt lenses is a joy, so much better than with my Canon bodies.
Edit: the flashlight method: you need a specific UV flashlight. They vary in quality of course. The issue with sunlight in a window with tin foil is unwanted heat. Fortunately the summer heat here in Seattle is manageable. Other sections of the globe need caution...

I know a few guys in Germany who are really bad at resisting a good deal and who wouldn't hesitate to buy from you
At least one of them is broke now though

Strangely both those copies of Oly 40/2.0 came to me from Berlin. The dealer who usually supplies me with alt lenses have bought them there cheaply somehow.
Anyways the little one I have will stay with me for good.I'm not a big fan of this lens, but it is quite rare and has a few rather atypical, ingenious features, like the,(very inconvenient), aperture ring.

Yes, I am really happy with that and excited about the lens. I like the 40mm a lot, it's a pity that there are not more lenses with that focal length.
The rare Hexanon AR 2/35 is missing in my list above.
have you tried the m-rokkor/40 cron or the cv 40/1.4? they have their weaknesses but are tiny and have strong performance in some areas.

I didn't try them yet but both are on my list as well although the Rokkor CLE 2/40 would be my favorite. Since I have never owned an M-Mount lens before and don't have an adapter, I didn't try them yet. The close focusing capabilities of these lenses are holding me back a bit although there are helicoid adapters to encounter that issue.

If you want to run a test with the 40mm M-Rokkor, i can borrow you mine.
