Just picked up an UG 55mm f4 Pentax 67 lens from KEH, the newer version. Some front element scratches, but only $75!
That should perform wonderfully, and the scratches are not going to affect imaging if they are not gouges. My P67 55/4 is very sharp on my 1Ds3/5D2. Same for the 75/2.8 ASPH, 105/2.4 and 165/2.8. I need to get a Nikon adapter!
Have fun with your new honking 55/4!
I've got a Mamiya 645 45/2.8N supposed to arrive today!

I just ordered a new Zeiss 25/2 ZE, which will probably replace my SMC Pentax 28/2 "Hollywood North", because it better fits the focal length steps in my Alt lenses (14mm, 18mm, 25mm, 35-70mm, 50mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm).
Also, I just got home from a trip to the USA, where I picked up the Vivitar Series 1 450/4.5 "Solid Cat" that I mentioned a couple of months ago. Man, it's amazing! I'm going to do a head-to-head between it and some Canon options for 400mm to 500mm. Should be interesting.

Nice Jim! You remember those huge "texas sized" donuts that used to be around? You may think of that when you see your pics with this lens. The use of some plastic asph elements in this lens is something I have never heard of...

Not only that, the border security folks have never seen anything like it. They're very used to a wide variation of optical devices, but the plastic element(s) in the 450/4.5 show unusual properties in their scanner. This section of the lens looks like a band of translucent, yellowish material, while the glass front element looks like normal. They thought I might be hiding something of an organic nature within the lens. I gave the security guy a tour of the lens, and he was happy. He made a point of showing it to the scanner operator, just so she'd know what it was. They all thought it was pretty cool, and so do I.

They are pretty light, I'm not too worried about it and I'm excited to use it. For the price I couldn't pass it up, though I've also got the 45mm f4 so I'm not sure which I'll end up preferring

It was a very fruitful ,"lensy" day today. An old friend of mine, who owns one of the biggest photographic buisnesses in the country, let me into one of his large basements, where hundreds of alt lenses are gathering dust."Take some of that crap away from me" he said. And so I did.Now I look at my newest acqusitions with delight.Sorry for the quick noisy snapshots.
Mint copies of Zeiss C/Y MM lenses with 84xx serial numbers:Planar 85/1.4 C/Y - my first! Planar 50/1.4 and Distagon 25/2.8 plus black G Biogon 28/2.8.
Leica R Vario - Elmar 35-70/3.5 and 28-70/3.5-4.5 Olympische Spiele'92 - I have to find out for myself whether that Leica labelled Minolta MD and Sigma zooms respectively, are crappy or not.The OM Zuiko 35-70/3.6 will also be tested. http://www.zeissimages.com/gallery/951/med_U951I1449937933.SEQ.2.jpg
Some interesting Canon FD findings:
FL 55/1.2-heavy beauty!
FD SSC 35/2.0,concave,but NOT thoriated I suppose,with 52mm fiter thread (not 55mm - strange!)
FDn 100/2.8 US Navy - no markings on the barrel and aperture ring at all and stepless aperture ring (strange!) http://www.zeissimages.com/gallery/951/med_U951I1449937941.SEQ.3.jpg
And the rest, acquired for sheer curiosity:
Prakticar aus Jena 50/1.4 - The GDR Zeiss Planar - 6 bladed,ninja star aperture,even stopped down to f16 - strange!,Nikon Series E 100/2.8 and X-Fujinon 100/2.8-I will have to buy an adapter. http://www.zeissimages.com/gallery/951/med_U951I1449937943.SEQ.4.jpg

Nice haul Peire.
The Leica R Vario - Elmar 35-70/3.5 is nice and sharp, great color, it's biggest nitpick is it's rather large MFD of 1m.
Can you post more pics of the FDn 100/2.8 US Navy.
I don't recall seeing a 28-70/3.5-4.5 Olympische Spiele'92.
The Summicron 35/2.0,Macro Elmarit R 60/2.8 should be nice
I've been looking for an X-Fujinon 100
AFAIK, all FD SSC 35/2.0,concave's are thoriated(all go to f16), the design did change at some point in the production of the SSC's to the non-concave(which go to f22) which I believe is the same as the nFD 35/2. My 35/2 concave takes a 55mm filter... more pics needed.

The US Navy nFD 100/2.8 has no aperture and dictance markings. It is set stiff at infinity.Aperture ring runs steplessly.Only the front looks like regular nFD 100/2.8 with custom lettering.Rather useless for general purpose photography.
The SSC concave at the second look seems to be thoriated. When I look through the rear leans I see that it's yellow. Also coatings are yellow/purple not green/magenta like my other two 35/2.0 SSCs.However - unlike other SSCs,the filter ring is 52mm,not 55mm and aperture lever can not be set for manual operation. An adapter or rear cap is needed to stop down the aperture..
When comes to IQ - this lens is visibly sharper in the corners and far sides on the A7R,than both my regular SSCs and nFDs 35/2.0.Wide open and stopped down to f5.6.
The Vario Elmar 35-70/3.5 is a disappointment. It behaves exactly like the first MD Rokkor 35-70/3.5.Soft in the corners/sides at f3,5 and f5.6 at all settings, especially 35mm.My two copies of Minolta MD Macro 35-70/3.5 are much better.
The Vario Elmar 28-70/3.5-4.5 is superior to the 35-70,but needs to be stopped down to f8 for good results.Sony kit 28-70/3.5-4.5 OSS is better overall.
35/2.0 Cron and 60/2.8 macro are very good. The 180/2.8 is good/very good either.
Zeiss Prakticar 50/1.4 needs to be stop down to f5.6-8 to get acceptable sharpness across the frame and shows veiling up untill f4.For sure, not the same league as the Planar 50/1.4 C/Y.
I presume that it might perform better if I had used higher quality adapter.Mine is too long and the lens reaches infinity too soon, negatively influencing it's overall performance.
