My latest is the Mamiya 645 N 80mm f/4 Macro. Found a good deal on a nice piece on eBay. Adapter from Fotodiox. Have a 645 N 150mm f/3.5 coming too!

That's an awesome little lens, Jim! I use mine more often than my A 120/4 Macro - for 'close up' more than for macro, that is.

Thanks for your advice about the lens during my buying process!

Yes, to close-ups rather than true macro, that's my plan too. Surprisingly high rez at infinity. More of an all-around short tele -- sort of a Nikon counterpart to my 90/2.8 TSE (without the movements).

Image quality seems very good and sharp, if slightly lower in contrast than modern macros -- which is an easy fix in PP. Sharpness, not such an easy fix when it's lacking.

It was a bit of a (expensive) revelation that rangefinder glass could be used on my new A7. I know - SLR luddite that I am. So: Heliar 15mm vII, Ultron 35/1.7, Planar 2.0/50 ZM, Tele-Elmar 90.

I just cut my backpack/walk around kit weight by several pounds.

Not that I want to rain on your parade, but you may want to get the newer version of the CV15, version 3 for your A7...

On that note... I just ordered a CV15III from Camera Quest.
I also returned my X-Fujinon 19/3.5 it was like new, but it's IQ was horrible.

My latest new Alt lens is the Mamiya 645 150mm f/3.5 N, mounted on the same Fotodiox adapter to Nikon D800e. The lens features a neat retractable lens hood. Very high IQ even wide open. And a terrific bargain with only a few exterior barrel and hood marks, $69 with free shipping from Roberts Camera on eBay listing.

Shown with sample photo showing extreme image cropping, wide open at f/3.5, hand held.

Naturally, being 6x4.5 format coverage, there is almost zero vignetting or edge aberrations.

Tiny white spots in upper portion are rain droplets in light drizzle.

Shot at f/3.5, actually 150mm lens, not 135mm as shown (Nikon doesn't have 150 listing).

Nice photos, Jim.

If you like the C 150/3.5 N, you should try the A 150/2.8 - it'll blow your socks off.

Picked up a Sigma super wide 24mm f2.8 for Alpha mount on eBay for $50. Seems to have a bit of a problem hitting infinity unfortunately, but I've got a Samyang 24mm for serious landscapes. Wanted this as an easy film lens that's small

Oh, well, in that case, Jim, whatever you do, do not look at the A 120/4 macro, unless you're a fan of smooth bokeh and a good amount of detail.

Thanks to eBay bucks and Popflash's demo sale, I got a Touit MP 50/2.8 for a relatively low price. Having used one early on on an NEX-7, I know it's a stud on APS-C. It'll be interesting to see how much of the a7II's sensor it can cover.

Picked up the Tammy 160-600 two weeks ago and bought the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di VC USD macro lens (nikon mount) and the Sony Alpha 7II today. I know, this is the alt lens purchase thread, but I am excite to be shooting the A7 series again with my alt glass.

Sold my Sony Alpha 7 (mk I) many moons ago and had the itch to stabilize my adapted R & M mount lenses. The A7II scratched that itch. Will be posting in the Alt Lens Forums once again. Hooray!

Was looking at the Sigma 150 APO macro, but decided to save some $ and went with the 90 Tammy. Hope I didn't make a mistake (mainly shoot macro flowers).

I am excite!

My recent alt lens purchase is a Canon FD 35mm f/2 SSC II, the radioactive one with the concave front element.

My main beef with the lens is just that it's pretty big and heavy. It has me thinking about trying to swap it for the Canon New FD 35/2. Performance isn't bad, needs to be stopped down to f/8 for corner sharpness on the A7. That isn't unexpected, especially for a 40 year old lens. The center wide open is better than a lot of the fast 50s I've used, without too much glow or fringing. I'm pretty sure I would have been way more impressed by it if I got this before the Contax G 45mm f/2. :P

I was quite happy with wide open performance when shooting aurora last night. There's some coma at f/2, but a lot less than most of the fast lenses I've used. Way less than on the lens I've been using for astro lately, the Olympus OM 24mm f/2.8. Not really comparable given how much wider 24mm is than 35mm, but it was a pleasant surprise.

Decent lens, I used mine a bit but I preferred the rendering of my Contax G 35mm f2. The Contax has more field curvature so the Canon FD has more isolation and blur which is nice, but it's not as sharp. Also the thorium element on the FD when yellowed lowers light transmission, so it's more like an f2.5 lens for me. I like it on film, but I bought a Sigma 35mm f1.4 recently and it's just a lot better so haven't used the Canon, the Contax is still small so it has a use. Probably going to sell the Canon, just not the best 35mm option for the A7 imo

I just recently picked up a Samyang (Rokinon) 135 mm f/2. Not the cheapest all manual 135 mm lens you can find, but certainly one of the sharpest. Here's what it can do wide open:

Just paid for two more soft focus lenses, why?
I don't know, guess I have to try them all?
Wow, it's almost like some incurable affliction...

Actually, the second one isn't a "true" SF lens, but can be used as such.
- Kenko 85/2.5 Soft Focus in some type of Nikon mount.
- Sigma System Focusing Multi Telemax 135/2.8 YS mount.
