I have successfully replaced all the lenses stolen in January, finishing with the FD 35mm TS. I am pleased with the one substitution in the lineup, an FD 20/2.8 for the stolen Oly 21/3.5. I've been shooting U-13 soccer matches with the FD 300/4L and my keeper rate is climbing steadily to over 80% - sports manual focus ain't so hard I'm also getting used to the menu foibles of the A7 and absolutely loving the image quality. I do not miss the 5DmkII much at all these days.
Now there is a Contax 3.5/15 available locally - does anyone have any experience with this gem? Is distortion better corrected than the Rokinon 14mm?

I picked up an Oly 21/3.5 when I was in the UK last week in a bundle of Olympus stuff I bought for £80. I received an email last night about an Oly 21/2 that was up for auction.....somebody really went to town on this one. I can't decide if those are scratches on the rear element or a slip with the Dremel when the previous owner was grinding away the collar on the mount. Was there an issue with this lens with the original 5D mirror?
P.S. I wouldn't touch that Oly 21/2 unless I figured I had access to a replacement rear element, without having to buy an 'intact' Oly 21/2. I'd just wait until the 'intact' version appears.

Thanks, Jim! I couldn't remember reading about any issues with the lens that I would need to take a grinder to it. I guess this previous owner really was a hacker! I bought the 21/2 a few years ago to use with a 5DII and it's perfectly fine. I just couldn't resist the 21/3.5!

Jupiter-8M in Kiev (rangefinder) mount. Thought it was an enlarger lens at first, it being so tiny and lacking a focusing helicoid, but apparently not. Ridiculously soft and lacking contrast wide open; it's like one of the lens elements was reversed and smeared with vaseline.

...at least I hope it was cheap, judging by those Kiev RF lens prices I have seen.
I bought a Kiev 4 with that same lens about 18 mths ago. I believe the roll I shot with it showed evidence of a light leak in camera...must shoot another roll to check. I actually liked the RF action and the length of the RF baseline made focussing quite pleasant.

I paid 25 USD (equivalent) for it and a bunch of other stuff, most notably a 49 mm M42 reversing ring (great for fitting reversed lenses to my M42 focusing helicoid) and some 40.5 mm filters and screw-in hood (fits my EL-Nikkor lens). I consider the Jupiter a bonus, and it might produce some "artsy" shots with its completely uncorrected aberrations. I will use it reversed on a focusing helicoid adapter, so no need for an expensive Kiev-NEX adapter.

Finally my 35mm/1.4 Zeiss Distagon ZM for my Leica M9-P arrived, after a nearly 5 months wait. I'm thinking of using this lens exclusively on the camera for a year, as a back to basics exercise (though shooting a number of lenses on my D800E for other work).
