Just picked up a mint copy of the Zuiko 100 f2. So far it appears to live up to its' reputation. Here's a crappy Zuiko family portrait, although I forgot the 50 F2 macro which is my all time favorite.

Gorgeous. I've been keeping an eye on those on Ebay watching for deals. I've been enjoying the 90mm on my A7 and would love to have the 45mm and a film body, too.
I hope your G1 has a green sticker in the film chamber. Otherwise, you won't be able to use the 21mm on it...
Thanks. It is a modified body. Now just need to sell some other lenses to fund the 21.

I went insane and bought a new MS Optical Sonnetar 50/1.1 in M mount for a bit over a grand. It's only 190 grams and has a onboard calibration adjustment for coma and focus shift. It's on the way from Japan now

Contax 35-70 arrived as well as FDn 20/2.8. And so the laborious process of replacing my stolen gear continues. The biggest question is whether to stay Canon with the 5DmkIII or go Sony (leaning Sony). So many facets of the kit have to change - flashes, AF lenses for sports, etc, etc. And the learning curve on a borrowed A7r is frustratingly slow. Is that sensor really worth it?
Compared the 20/2.8 to the mightiest of them all (in my humble opinion) 19mm Elmarit-R V2. At f/2.8 it isn't even close - the Elmarit smokes the FD in contrast and resolution across the frame. At f/8 it is a different story altogether. The FD still loses in the extreme corners but not by a whole lot. Contrast and resolution are quite comparable, and definitely good enough for me. Surprisingly the FD is as well corrected for distortion if not a tich more linear than the Leica.

Ben, I've been really happy with the a7II. The in-body SteadyShot is a wonderful thing, and ergonomically, I think it would make for a smoother transition from a 5D body. It's fairly fuss-free, once you've set up the custom buttons to your liking. It does lack the 36MP punch of the 7r, but I prefer the camera that lets me shoot hand-held at low ISO/shutter speed combinations.
I won a Sigma APO 400/5.6 in A mount at auction today (the 1988 design with a 4M MFD, not the newer but also discontinued Macro). I'm curious to see if a third party lens designed for an AF Minolta film camera will work with the LAEA3 and a7II. The guy I bought it from was using it on an a99 with no issues, so hopefully I'll be able to change the aperture and the camera will recognize the focal length. If it works out, it will be quite the bargain.

Flea market find this weekend, Minolta 75-300 AF lens for $10.00 (works great) and a $10.00 bag of 3 beaters ( Tokina 28,Vivitar 28 and Vivitar 100 ). Even had money left over for several beers.

Okay, sort of a purchase. . . or re-purpose.
Yesterday, my Chinese (Pixco) Leica R to Nikon F adapter arrived. Basically, this a the "same" thing as the Leitax, except for a cost of $17 shipped. Pretty fast delivery, purchased on Jan 17, so just over a week to get here.
I had my concerns, not only about the quality, but the tear down of the Leica R 60 macro ROM and rebuild with the new base. Lots of little parts to deal with! I watched a YouTube high speed conversion, read what I could find, and finally, followed Leitax's step by step procedure.
The result was success. The Leica is now added to the acceptable lenses on hand for use with the D800e. In essence, it's a new lens.
Here's the finished mounting on the body and some of the first shots taken to check alignment or any other problems. Looks good so far. Whew! I sure miss the easy click-on adapters for Alt lenses on Canon bodies! I can still apply a Nikon F to Canon EF click-on adapter to use the lens on my Canon gear. Win-win.
I didn't have the non-CPU set for this lens, so the focal length and aperture is not correct. The first too test shots are at f/5.6, and only the last one is f/2.8.

Hi,
could you tell where can one find them? Found a Pixco website, but it's only showing mountable/twist-in adapters - not a true bolt-in like the Leitax.
Thanks

Picked up Sony 135mm f/1.8 today. I don't know why it take me so long to buy this lens. I should've bought it long time ago. The picture quality is amazing. Damn heavy like the Zeiss 135mm. Super fast AF with LA-EA4 on A7r.

It works! Thanks, Sony, for the backwards compatibility.
I have a couple of niggling complaints with the lens. The finish is tacky, and I don't mean unfashionable, but lightly sticky. From what I've read, this is stage three in a four stage process before the finish starts peeling. I'm going to give myself a little gaffer's tape grip between the tripod mount ring and the focus ring, so problem solved there. And the tension on the focus ring is a little too low (I have the same problem with Nikon AIS super-teles) so I find myself double checking focus if I've moved at all.
But really, I have nothing to complain about. It's the smallest, lightest 400/5.6 I could find that had a decent (and well-deserved) reputation. It's sharp throughout the focus-range, the bokeh's decent, colors are fairly neutral, fringing can be on the bad side in high contrast scenarios but is unobtrusive in most light. All in all, I think it'll fit right in with the FD 300 and 500, and will be easier to pack and hand-hold then either of those two. Not bad for $152.50.

I remember that from my Nikkor*ED 400/3.5, but not from my Nikkor ED 500/4 P, which was nicely damped.

Since I had budgeted a grand for the 400 (I thought I was going to end up with the Canon EF 400/5.6L) and spent far less, I was able to accelerate my plans to pick up a Minolta APO 200/2.8.
