Last Friday, I found another nice Nikkor lens at the local camera shop.
A Nikkor non-Ai 35mm f/2.0
From what I can tell, it's better than my Canon FDn 35mm f/2.8, but I have to do some more tests before giving up on the Canon, because the Canon seems to be really good at infinity, especially when stopped down.

I found a Hassy C 80/2.8 with a wonky shutter and loose helicoid but perfect glass, which makes it perfect for my purposes. Assuming I like the close performance on the Mamiya bellows (and I'm very familiar with the lens, so I don't see why I wouldn't be happy) and it doesn't get to infinity (no reason to believe that it should) I'm going to try and remount the optical cell so it can.

Here's hoping I don't completely screw this up.
Good luck Brad! I am in the middle of replacing the rubber belt in my 24" HP Z3100 printer. Had to disassemble a lot of stuff to get to the friggin belt. I got 7 yrs out of it, which is better than the 5 yrs I see a lot users reporting they got..
I hope it works again when I finish!

I walked into my dealer to see if he still had an FD-nex adapter that I'd included with a lens that I'd sold him last year...
And walked out with a hasselblad 90mm f4 for Xpan. Tuesday (when the adapter should arrive) can't come soon enough.
The lens (my first fuji glass) had been on my list since I got the A7r, but due to its relative rarity and my abhorrence of ebay purchasing wasn't something I was actively searching for. My hope is that it will be the next best thing compared to my mamiya 80mm f4 macro on the A7r. Its not quite a medium format lens but it should have decent corners and a flat field seeing how it was designed for a 24x65mm frame. Its small and well built, I really hope it stacks up well to my previous favorite 90mm the CV90 f3.5.

For some reason or other, I got a hankering to take out my old Canon A-1 for a spin. I forgot what a great camera this actually was/is. Caught the bug, and picked up the following (kinda got lucky...all arrived on the same day...its like Christmas in July):
FD 24/2.8 SSC
FD 35/2 SSC (concave version)
Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 (Mark II version)

I went to my aunt's memorial service last Thursday and found myself inheriting her photo gear. Not quite a purchase so it might not belong here, but it was an acquisition.
My aunt was a lifelong photographer, and a very keen one. My siblings and cousins and I all remember her with one of her camera - she always had a camera with her.
I left that night with her two Nikkormats, Nikkor 50/1.8, Canon FTb, FL 50/1.8, FD 135mm f/3.5, Nikon LF35AF compact, and many filters all packed up in her Leica camera bag. A lot of the filters were 48mm, which seemed like an odd size. I've been using her lenses some on my NEX-5R with an adapter (the alt connection), but I think I'll have to put a roll of film through one of those bodies at some point. I'm open to recommendations for a nice low ISO (25-200?) film. My only experience with film has been the 110 camera I had as a kid and some disposables.
I only developed an interest in photography over the last few years. She didn't spend much time online and didn't seem much of what I've been doing. I wish I had been able to talk with her about photography and get her thoughts as I've improved.
