Sounds morally wrong, somehow. Did you not consider the Contax AX?
I have a Contax N digital and N1 (film) and wanted a 35mm lens and this guy in korea was selling it already converted so I bought it Not a combo you see everyday but they are both Contax

may keep both for sometime until I fully get to know their characteristics.
just waiting for my kodak to come back from cleaning and need to get the rokkor converted in the meantime.

Cleaning sensors of my Kodaks (I used to have 3 with Nikon mount i.e. 14n+2xSLR/n) was a real pita.I never managed to clean them in full. But the amount of details in macro shots, esp from 14n was unbelivable.

yeah i also have a 14n and slr/n, and it took about 20+ sensor swabs to clean one sensor till it got acceptably clean.
but this time the issue is the viewfinder on the slr/c. don't know where it's been but it was very dirty and there was no way to clean it except to disassemble the body, which i would never attempt on my own. so this guy in korea offered to clean it for free and also reinforce the sensor so that it doesn't fall off, which has been reported to happen.

My new Nikon 105mm F2.5 Nikkor-P.C has stardust...
I'm not much of a collector of gear...at least not intentionally....but, well, this lens had been on Craigslist for a few weeks and I finally caved...
It has the same optical formula and coating as the AIS I already have...though apparently the differently configured aperture leaves may affect the bokeh differently than the AIS and I'll be testing that....but...
...what I've always wanted to do was to compare this version's long-throw focusing to the shorter throw of the AIS version...to see which version is easier for me to lock focus.
It's very clean, inside and out....except for the "stardust" you can see here.
I've been told it's condensation...looks like it...but it appears to be permanent...hopefully it has little affect....

Re. the first one, M42 I assume, SMC rubber focus grip or S-M-C metal focus grip?
I have the 3 versions prior to the rubber focus grip & the SMC A, the S-M-C is my fave as it handles flare the best of them all, for rendering I like the 8 element the most.
Lightshow
The first one is the K mount with the rubberized focus grip. I am planning to modify (disfigure) this by cutting/filing down the aperture lever that projects from the back and is preventing non LiveView use with the 5D MkIII, The second one, which is M42 and is the early 8-element Super-Tak, is amazing. Bokeh wide open have a dreamy look and the images appear very three dimensional. I bought these primarily for video and the Super-Tak is extremely good, with lots of detail captured, though slightly soft at the edges wide-open.
The Yashinon, on the other had, was the surprise of the pack. Great colors and rendition at 1:1, not too good for insects at 1:1 due to the very small MFD, but great for flowers and stuff. All three lenses are solid pieces, and the last two are full metal, with extremely smooth focussing and aperture control.
