Its an interesting lens, I think it's strength is like the 45mm F2 G in that it shines in close to mid range.

What is somewhat surprising is just how different 67.5mm and 42mm feel in everyday use. Helps me justify keeping both lenses.

the 45mm is a little longer than 45mm so it actually comes out to just about 70mm on NEX.

Has anyone tried the VC 15mm on the 5n ??

I recall that it had a bit of color cast, and a little corner smearing on the 5, which made the 16mm f2.8 a bit of a better overall choice, though I do think the VC is probably the better lens optically (as well as more expensive and bigger/heavier)

Would be interesting if its corner performance has improved to where its become a better overall performer than the 16mm

How the 12mm VC performs now as well would be interesting, though that would be asking a lot no doubt, especially when the $99 ultra wide convertor worked so well for the money.

I just got my first NEX (5N) and the peaking feature is incredibly useful for MF, amazing feature. Who needs AF?

Canon FD 28 f/2.8 wide open on the 5N....

Wow...great shots all.

Andrew - incredible shot!

Charles - very nice portraits.

FlyPenFly - you have pushed me over the edge to acquire that lens....wow that lens looks stellar on the NEX-5N

how is the corner sharpness?

Edges are as sharp as it gets.....corners are soft. See this 100% shot:

Where are you guys buying your Kipon Contax G adapters? I checked Kipon's site and couldn't find the adapter on any of the resellers they have listed. I see several available on ebay from Hong Kong distributors but the "sold" count for the listings look low, so I'm thinking they're being bought elsewhere.

Snapsy - I had bought a couple of Kipon adapters on ebay from: breguetcamera

I live in Texas and from the time of the order to arrival it was approx 2 weeks.

Thanks! I see what appears to be the same Kipon adapter listed in a different auction for $79.99 (vs breguetcamera's $138), both with free shipping. Am I missing something? Do I need to worry about counterfeits from the lower-priced sellers?

Love your shots. But on my screen (high dpi) this in particular one looks over-sharpened. However, the composition with the sunspark is awesome.

How is that ZM 18 working out for you on APS-C Paul?

I have it and it does a remarkable job on the M9, less so on the APS-C GXR M mount, though my other ZM lenses look fab on the GXR as well. I don't know what to make of it yet.

I'm not a pro, so I'm not fit to make any judgment on the lens.
Having said that, I'm really enjoying the lens on my Nex-5N...
I personally like 28mm focal length... And this lens gives me good colors and sharpness...
I think Sony hit a homerun with Nex-5N ....

5N, FD 35 f/2.8 @ f/4, ISO 2000 (the high iso performance of this little camera is impressive).....

....I'm sure the experienced NEX users out realize this, but with legacy glass shooting in shutter priority mode is the way to go with auto ISO...
