Seriously, many people are switching to NEX. Many serious photographers are.
And the NEX-7 will only accelerate that process.
Just one advice: if you have some good MF glass, keep it, even if you think it's big.
You might appreciate the quality and it's not like you always have to "travel light".
Yeah it would be very hard for me to part with my Zeiss ZF primes. I also have couple Nikon E series lenses i got for a song a 50mm and a 75-150mm, they are very light and compact for slr lenses.
Any opinion about a mint Contax Planar 50/1.7 on a NEX for 200 Euros: good value or just good performance - or nothing of those?
good performance (very sharp, high contrast, bokeh is rather harsh), a little overpriced. used prices for c/y lenses seem to have shot up lately though. a year ago you could find that lens for $125 pretty easily.

Thanks. It looks as the NEX may have influenced price levels.
I'd probably better get a Canon EF-NEX adapter and try some of my 5D2 inventory. Including the EF 50/1.4 first.
This is a fair price. He does ship to Germany only though. If you want it let him ship to me and I'll ship to you at cost.
The 50/1.7 is a great lens.
That looks better. Appreciate your offer Morfeus!
I've just realized that I should probably get the Biogon 28 and adapter here first (on its way from China). And while waiting for that I'll get a 5N and get to know it a bit. And THEN I can set my self loose for additional lenses

doubtful in the case of c/y lenses (but true for contax g lenses), this lens mounts just fine on canon slrs as well as NEX. there is pretty simple kit to convert it to nikon too.
Okay, I'll grab it then My 35-70/3.4 fell through, and I am trying to save up for the ZF.2 28/2, so I should stay away from the ZF.2 50/1.4 for now. This'll give me a breather, and raison d'être for my Leitax-Contax-Nikon mount which is already on the way.
Maybe by the time I am ready to switch to the ZF.2 50/1.4 you will be interested in the Contax 50/1.7? If so, let me know and I won't sell it without asking you first.

Just for reference: I got a Planar 50/1.4 from ebay for 225 euros just a few weeks ago. That's a good price these days (on ebay). 105 euros for the 50/1.7 is a good ebay price too. Most sellers are trying to push the prices quite a lot.
I'm traversing this thread right now (soon to be a 5N owner and some alt glass) and these are definitively my top jaw-breakers having reached page 47. These are *really* good. But if I were you I would just slightly even out the left and right face lighting (2 levels with masks) - then they become masterpieces in my world. Technicalities like this are just details, all major work has already been done by you. I'm impressed, very inspiring
