Played with the Sony Smooth Reflection App this morning. The app took about lots of shots (don't remember how many) at 1/50 each, and combined it to this one. No ND filter was used. The water was very rapid and muddy.
A few aurora photos from last weekend here in Juneau. We had a very rare combination or bright moon, clear skies and active auroras. I used the A6000 plus a Nikon mount Rokinon 12mm f/2.8 fisheye. Shot at f/2.8, 4 to 6 seconds and ISO 1600. The A6000 was my "C" cam - I was also shooting with a D800e and D810. I decided to set the A6000 to shoot in 16:9 crop mode just for the heck of it. This camera never ceases to impress me, given its price and size. The images compare very favorably with those of the D800e and D810. I'd hazard a guess that an A6000 paired with a Samyang/Rokinon 12mm f/2 would be the best bang for your buck aurora cam around.
Joe, just absolutely amazing. Really strong work.
Steve, great image with the kit lens. I think that lens is very 'under-valued'. My screen saver at home is with that darn little lens!
I've been in the A7 camp for the past 8 months. After jumping up from the A6000. Well, I'm jumping back down. I couldn't be more impressed with the size, and price factor. With Sony looking like they are going to continue to make big, expensive glass for the A7 series, the value and performance of the A6000 just can't be beat. Just my .02!

I'm an unabashed A6000 fan when everything's considered - cost, size, weight, AF, apps, fps, video and especially cropped image quality, including DR. This was my first time trying it with auroras. I had planned on using it for a timelapse while using the D800/810 for stills but the auroras were inconsistent and I was having terrible lens frosting issues so just decided to settle for stills.
I like the last one with the sun / boat juxtaposed.
One from yesterday's ride - still plenty of snow on the trails for the fat tire bike to shine. The local beach wasn't ready for swimming, but it was fun getting there.
