the nikkor 5cm f/1.4 looks like has a very similar drawing style to it's little brother. did you have to get the $250 helicoid adapter?
haha, I had a heart attack once I realised I needed that thing! But Amedeo, has a 170.00 model without the scale, etc. But very nice helicod. Does weigh 80 grams.
I have also looked at many a 50/2 nikkor, but they have been a bit dear lately.
Thanks Uhoh, ulrikft, I did find the 18-55 better than the 16 and pretty close to my MF lenses when stopped down; I believe in-camera processing may have something to do with that as well.
It looks like it could be a really good candidate for a manual focus pancake lens.
I've had a couple of issues with mine that I'm waiting to get sorted out from the maker. I'll speak more in detail about it once it is resolved. Outside of that, the lens is insanely small and has the potential to be a great lens on NEX, but I haven't had a chance to use it much, yet. When collapsed, it's only around 14mm long...WITH the M adapter attached!

58 pages is a lot to check. Too much. So I'll start from here...
I have these 4 images, taken recently, using 2 different lenses, Nex-5:

The Lux looks very sharp, but what ISO is that? There's a horrendous amount of chroma noise for an outside shot...
could be wrong sharpening also. The Nex has a bit of noise at base ISO and if you don't use treshold in sharpening OOF areas look exactly like in this sample.
Well I'm "officially" off my crutches and I celebrated by driving my jeep up high to test some glass. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6082/6037719572_6d9cb8e87a_z.jpg
I was doing alot of infinity stuff but had the dog with me too. Sun was down and a rock wall formed the backgroound.
at infinity f/8 the nikkor was well out of it, while the Canon LTM 50/1.4 seemed every bit as sharp as the leica right out to the edges, which really surpised me.
Since I bought the nikkor for portraits and closer work, I suppose that's fine, but I was a little sad to see it loose out in the long shots

yeah, according to nikon that lens was optimized for short distances. i've been tempted by it for a long time, but now that there is that helicoid adapter available i think i'll probably get the zm 50/1.5 for my longer portrait lens on the NEX.
Just a quick stroll around downtown Vancouver. I think I need something wider than a 35mm. Any suggestions on a 35mm FF equivalent? Something around 300-500'ish?

Just got NEX c3. Pic taken with kit 18-55 lens, no adjustments.
How can i download RAW files ? What program should i use ?
LR and PS4 would not recognize them.
Thanks.
S.
You don't mention which version of LR you're using, but I use LR3 on NEX raw files, no problem. The current version of DxO also works very well.

lightroom 2 and CS4 won't handle the raws directly, you need to convert the files to DNG first for those programs to read them. adobe wants you to upgrade to lightroom 3 and CS5.
