A few tests with the CV 35 1.7 on the NEX 5. This may be the sharpest lens I have used thus far on the NEX. Crops below have had no additional sharpening! Beyond resolving ability, the lens handles color, contrast and tonal gradation extremely well. The backlit leaves shot below is one that I often test with lenses and this CV renders edges and color almost exactly like my Leica Summicron 50. It actually beats the last version Summicron 50 in the bokeh department though. The one area that the CV can show issues is with CA wide open which is mostly correctable in processing.

@Tariq: That looks good. I'm glad I don't have a NEX (yet) because there are so many interesting lenses (like this one) I'd be tempted to buy.
Yeah, up until now, most of the lenses I have bought for use on the NEX have just ended up going though my hands and back to market in order to finance the next one. Think I will hang on to this one for a while.

Here's something new for me. I picked up a Super Takumar 55mm f/2 for $15 at a garage sale, cleaned it up and got an adapter. These are some first shots. The lens does have sharpness but appears to have some softness at the same time. I find I have to dial up the contrast quite a bit. You probably can't beat this lens for the money. The adapter cost more than the lens!
Great price on that lens. It's really hard to beat the older Pentax screw mount lenses for the combination of build, image quality and value they offer.
thanks guys.
Focusing it on the NEX is not too difficult as long as the subject is not moving too much, but trying to focus it on the D3 was impossible. Not even close impossible :
Pen 42/1.2: out of stock, so I got a refund and a sorry from the ebay-vendor.
Pen 38/1.8: out of stock, so I got a refund and a sorry from the ebay-vendor.
Contax 90/2.8: Ordered from Ffordes, came in three days, great.
Contax 40/2: ordered from ebay, got in 10 days.
Adapter: ordered from ebay 14 days ago along with a pen-adapter.
... pen adapter has arrived, all my contax-glass... but the contax-adapter? no such luck.. :P
Just had to vent my impotent rage..
i understand. i got my pen f before the NEX went on sale and it sat on the shelf for a month, then i had to wait another month for an adapter. i just taped the lens to the camera with a spacer and shot with it anyway though: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4117/4790220071_71f034a4d5_z.jpg
