Phillip another nice set - #2 is my fav.As soon as i saw it, it made me think of the many times i have taken walks in similar areas during the summer. Thanks for sharing.

NEX 7/ SMC Takumar 50 @ f2 - was a little frustrated with the conversion on this one.For some reason the color always came out a bit cooler in the jpeg. Both with DNG / RAW files.Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions as to how to avoid this? It might just be my monitor.

Phillip, wonderful set. You always capture the greenery of the country so well.

Are these places near your home, or do you venture out to find them?

Phillip, those city shots are great but the coffee shot is amazing!
Briantho, Saint Lucy's Day is wonderful.
Alwang, the Leica 60 macro flower shot is beautiful.
Sebboh, I love the little girl with city bokeh.

It is unfortunate for me that you post everything in here, Jim.

I am sure I have missed a lot of great stuff. Always enjoy your photos!

Paul - Thanks for looking as well as your comments.Maybe you could pick up a nex and join the thread. What i really like about the nex is nearly all legacy lenses can be used on it including Leica M.Its a lot of fun to try these lenses without having to switch bodies to do so.

Phillip, those city shots are great but the coffee shot is amazing! And the country ones as well
Briantho, Saint Lucy's Day is wonderful.
Alwang, the Leica 60 macro flower shot is beautiful.
Sebboh, I love the little girl with city bokeh.
Bill, love your third shot.
Jim, your hammer (first version) is just awesome. I need to get better at this sort of photography, and you are an inspiration.
A couple of shots to try new things from known subjects and break a few rules. Tell me what you think.

This shot is stunning (and the B&W one is great as well)! I just love it.

In German, there is a built-in joke here: Das ist der Hammer! (that is the hammer)

Der Hammer means the hammer, but it is also used as slang to say that something is awesome

Goddammit Phillip, that's it, I'm getting the Biogon 28!

I need to stay out of these threads, I always imagine I'll be able to capture that sort of image if I just get that piece of equipment!

Jim,

I was issued an NEX (C3) at work for taking photos inside the data centre. I hate it. I mean no offence, and I have discussed the reasons why elsewhere. Suffice it to say it has nothing to do with image quality and everything to do with my love of OVF and the size of my hands.

that is definitely the worst of the NEX series to give to someone like you. you might appreciate one of the ones with an eye level finder more, but i doubt you would enjoy it anywhere near as much as your 5D. for people who really like the present handling of dslrs (i definitely don't fall into this category) i really don't think the NEX system makes much sense unless they want to play with a bunch of lenses that are difficult or impossible to adapt to dslrs. NEX cameras are great for people that really like evfs or TLRs with waist finders though.

The 6 & 7 are a bit different than the 3 & 5 for feel, but I understand where you're coming from Jim, I wish my 7 felt like my 1DIII, it's like holding a breast in your hand, you never want to let go..

disagree! this makes me question what type of breasts (what species?) you've been holding.
