I am the remains of a headlight/visibility blind at a long forgotten Drive-In Theatre.
Jim - Are these the poles that the Drive In Screen was mounted on??
Alan m - first one is very nice.
Here is a shot with my Takumar 50 / Nex 7 This guy would not come out of the corner, thus the tight framing. The color and rendering of this lens reminds me of a few rokkors that i had.
I'm rarely happy with my shots, I'm hoping by forcing myself to post more I can encourage myself to shoot more and get more practice. But I suppose shooting more doesn't necessarily make one a better photographer.
More from a morning commute, all with the Rokkor 58/1.2, probably all at f/5.6.
Hi Adam, this is an intimidating thread for sure, with some really great photographers (I don't include myself here) and amazing lenses! But your photos look like a good start. Gorgeous light in no.2. No.3 seems slightly soft - probably a little camera shake, given that something must have been in focus in that scene?! Love to see some close-up shallow depth of field shots from the legendary 58/1.2 at f1.2-2. Is it heavy and difficult to hand-hold? I love my old Rokkor 50/1.4, but lately lean more towards lighter Olympus Zuiko 50/1.8, Canon FDn 50/1.4 & FDn 35/2; lightness = sharpness for me!
Yes, the last seems more likely out of focus to me. I'm a little hasty with this lens sometimes, and it's clear in a large number of my results. I did post some close-ups with this lens a few pages back, I think. I took it w/ me on the commute intending to use it as such but I was pretty unhappy with my shots.
It's not difficult to hold on a NEX 6, but it's too heavy for me to enjoy wearing around my neck. I do love it, though, I was really disappointed with how heavy it felt after it arrived in my home and thought I'd have to sell it. But I love it. My typical shot is landscapes in the mountains so I'm really happy with this lens. It forces me to do something different (except in my last post).
Also, focus peaking doesn't work most of the time @ f/1.2, which is a bummer.

Adam, when the contrast is too low for focus peaking, try focusing using magnified view. Also, in the settings menu, you can adjust the focus peaking level.

tweaking the peaking settings is useful but peaking simply isn't accurate enough at f/1.2 no matter how you tweak the settings. if i have time i zoom in at apertures larger than f/2, otherwise i turn peaking off and use the shimmer of moire on the evf instead to tell when i'm in focus at f/1.2.

Would love to hear your opinion of the adapter once you've used it a while.
First impressions are - very well built and very smooth focus throw.FYI i got mine on Amazon for $60 shipped. Not sure how they do that but they do.

sounds good, and great price. to bad it sticks out so much on the bottom, looks awfully hard to put on a tripod.
your pic reminds me of a quick snap i took at a camera shop a couple of years ago:
My son, who is 13, actually did this small tree in our house all by himself! Pretty cool for a teenager to want to put that forth of effort. He even surprised me! Nex 6 with 50 1.8. A little HDR was used, I actually liked the effect it had here.
Put me on the list as well - Philip, that last photo really works. The steam just fills in the background nicely, and is lit differently than the rest. So nice.
Also - briantho - the "Sunset over field" a few pages back - wonderful. I can almost hear the snow crunch under my boots.
