sebboh, loving that funk, and you seem to get more presence out of that Cron than just about anyone else I've seen. Really like your work with it, you seem to get an almost Zeiss level of presence from it.

thanks, i regard the lens as my anti-contax g 45. it gives a kind of 3d presence to subjects but doesn't make them look real the way the zeiss does. i prefer it's colors to the zeiss as well, so much subtle differentiation and yet so bright and vivid. if it had sharp corners like the zeiss, i would probably never use the zeiss except for the rare occasions when i want the 'zeiss look'.
Brian, every time I see your flower pics, I have to admit, I go green with envy [goes off to hide his shame]. You seem to have endless DOF, so that everything is always sharp, whatever lens you are using. As you shoot usually closer than me, you should have less DOF, not more. How do you do it? Crop a lot?
Some examples where I wish I'd had more DOF. Leica R Elmarit 60 Makro, usually f:11.
Thanks Philber. The shot is WO at f2, cropped by about 15% to improve its composition, but if you think everything in that pic is sharp, you need to get glasses or a bigger screen.
The 3-4 points that are actually sharp make up like 1% of the image. I did aim to get more than one point in planar focus though, because it creates somewhat of an illusion of added DoF.
Both of your nice photos have "endless" DoF in comparison.
