The Kipon Contarex to Sony NEX adapter. I'm thinking of buying the COMA adapter for Contarex to Leica M, and then using Hawks Leica M to NEX adapter to be able to focus even closer using the helicoid.
I have probably browsed through this thread at least a couple times... thought it time I contribute something, good or bad. This thread went a long way to encouraging me to pick up the nex
I really like the organic shape and subtle colors in your first shot with the smoke, and the fifth one down has a really nice summer-y feel to it, with interesting eye shaped bokeh.
Ocean, love the color in that second shot. Was that shot with a polarizer, or is the water where you are just naturally clean, clear and beautiful?
Sebboh, have you always been using grad filters, or have I just started to notice it? I like the inclusion of people in your crop to give the scene some scale. Looks like you all were treated to a very pleasant sunset.

What lens(es) are you using with your NEX?

Thanks Jeremy, I appreciate your comments - as well as anyone's criticisms... I only want to improve.
The lenses used in the shots you pointed out were both minoltas - the smoke shot was with the mc rokkor pf 58mm 1.4, many people criticize this lens, and a lot of that has to do with comparing it to the 58mm 1.2. I am quite happy with this lens, its a little big and soft, but sure has a place in those softer people shots.
I shot this smoke image at around 11:30 am, the light was actually quite harsh.
The second shot was taken around 5pm with my new MD rokkor-x 50mm 1.4, I was just testing the lens to see what it could do and I guess compare it to my 58mm 1.4
Darwin has very harsh light, everyday is the same so many of the shots need to be early morning or early evening.
A number of those other images were taken with the cv 35mm 1.4 - I picked up this lens specifically for travelling, I wanted something small but fast since I never know where I might be when I want to take a shot... I also like the rendering this lens provides.
I have a couple other lenses ; mc tele rokkor 135mm 2.8 -- big lens/heavy but I cant really fault it, awesome piece of glass!
cv 15mm super-wide << you just cant go past this one
I think I have most bases covered, 15mm, 35mm, 50mm, 58mm, 135mm maybe I could go with an 85 or something, but right now I just really need to get out there and learn about what I have

Good looking stuff here guys!
Jeremywilburn, I didn't use a polarizer - the water is very clear and clean in Greece Rodos Island.

Not 100% sure if it's seeing a friend's image but that just looks really great.
thanks!

no grad filter, just fill light. the low clouds make it look like grad filter transitions, but its just mountains poking through the clouds.
So, there are 365 pages to this thread, instead of going through each I was hoping someone could point me to or post some action shots of kids playing. I have a 4 year old that I take most of my pictures of with a T3i. I would like to move the the Nex 7, but would like to see some kids in action before making my final decision.

Thanks!!!
do you mean autofocus or manual focus? i have lots of action pictures of my daughter, but i only shoot manual focus and she is only 20 months old, so she's not terribly fast...
I'm interested in autofocus. The stuff I have read about manual focus has made me interested to try it with this camera, but my primary lens would be either the sigma 30 2.8 or sony 50 1.8 (haven't decided yet). And then I might get a manual lens or two for wide angle and tele.
@coloured, excellent, another Minolta fan! Sounds like you've got a nice kit there too. There are a few posters who use Minolta glass (Phillip Reeve immediately comes to mind). The 50mm f1.4 is a nice piece of glass, although I think many prefer the rendering of the MC version vs. the x. Both look nice in my opinion. I'm jealous of the CV though. Thanks for sharing! I always enjoy seeing the difference in lenses.
@ocean, wow, the colors were really fantastic! Greece is definitely on my places-to-go list.
@sebboh, the line of clouds matches up perfectly with the horizon which made me think filter...my mistake! I think the mountains peeking up over the clouds makes that shot even more amazing!
Since I've posted a couple times without adding a photo, here is one from Wormsloe in Savannah, GA. I want to revisit at a different time of day, but I liked the shadows, so I processed with a high contrast B&W.
