At least at this size the first one is great. If there is not much noise because of it, much better...

that shot was with the c/y 35/1.4 incidently, probably at f/2.8.

I like the pushed shadows personally - amazing that you can push them that much.

For some reason, images with where the shadows have been pulled up quite a bit look better than most HDR images to me. It may be that most people overdue it on the HDR (because they can?).

A few today with Nex 5N and Canon FD 28 f2.8 / 50 f1.8
I have to say that so far i am getting much better color results using the IDC software from Sony than from CS5.
Any feedback on how the colors look are always appreciated.I am still trying to get a handle on the processing.

just lightroom.

alright i'll stick with my shadow pulling, but i'll probably ease that one up a little, seems a little unreal to me.

Jim - beautiful work. I especially like the fourth one above.

For that specific shot, the pushed shadows work, to me, because the object on which the couple is standing is interesting. If you were a lot closer to them (and shooting from a ladder to get their height while cutting out the bulk of the foreground) then the shadowed subjects would probably be the better choice.

I like these, Jim. Particularly the barn shots. That red reminds me of the Mamiya 35/3.5 N.

Jim, I think your color is spot on for the barn series. Congratulations on catching some wonderful light.

Thanks for the feedback. Its a shame that Adobe CS5 color output for the NEX is really bad, because you have so many more adjustments at your disposal with it.Whereas the IDC software from Sony produces much better / accurate colors but the raw editing options are limited, i cannot find any real shadow adjustment in it.The one that says shadows has no affect on the image.Any way here is one taken today.
