thanks for the nice comments ;-)
@sebboh, i would declare myself a rokkorfanboy, and sure the MC-PG is more creamy but i think i like the Canons rendering of light-points (don't know the correct english-term, those discs you get when photographing small light sources like in image 2. and 3.) more.
the lack of hexagons is certainly an improvement. i'm not sure the rokkor is actually that smooth, i just like it's character (especially transitions to oof) except for the hexagons.
incidentally it seems that the 8 blade aperture i took from my rokkor 58/1.4 will fit in the mc pg 50/1.4 with just a little trimming (on a lathe). i'm going to look for something with more blades first though since i have to go to that much trouble anyway.
Last weekend I had the chance to visit an air show pretty close to my home, so I packed my NEX-7, kit zoom (used for a couple of shots), 50 mm (not used at all) and a Canon FDn 200 mm f/2.8 (used for most of the photos).

I happen to love air shows, but I haven't really tried to shoot one since when I had an Olympus E-10 (and those images are gone :/ )

After hearing so much from you guys I bit the bullet for a Sigma 30/2.8. Just received. Humm...looking at it it's hard to believe it's as good as the beautiful expensive, all metal ones I have here...well, I don't want to make judgment in advance, so we'll see...
Anyway, what hood are you using with it, doesn't seem to exist an official one for it...
I received my Contarex Biogon 21 back from service. It was completely overhauled, cleaned and lubricated, and it now looks all new and shiny. Focusing and aperture is silky smooth. Very quick and professional service by Henry Scherer, whom I highly recommend for service of vintage Zeiss lenses.
Haven't had time for much, but here are a few quick test shots which I haven't had time to cornerfix.
Many pages with great images as always - a few highs for me from the last page:
sebboh, you make that 35 sing even with an APS-C seemingly with such a breeze, so nice!
mawz, lots of 3D in my eyes where the comp adds a lot. Tasteful.
Phillip, love the shots, PP bordering to perfection. Congrats to the new lens, looks great.
aferiksson, like your shots. That vampire trio must be an odd sight, great capture!
@Piotr_p: I just love your portraits, great stuff.
@Phillip Reeve: Nice stuff, the G45 sings in your Nex...
@Briantho: Is the Biogon 21 mounted on a Nex7? Shots look really nice.
@Sebboh: I hear you now shoot the Nex-7, what are your thoughts? I am really interested in knowing if it has affected your PP workflow very much. How do you find the files? Also, how does your Cron 40 compare to the G45, you seem to be in love with your new lens.. Oh, and I drool every time you post images shot with the C/Y 35/1.4. There is something about that lens that I just love. Def. on my wishlist, but prices seem to have gone wild on that one...
Keep the good stuff coming everybody, thanks for sharing...
Great shots on this and preceding pages. Work has had me traveling and quite busy so my time here has been severly lacking over the past couple of weeks. However, I did get to take a few photos from my recent visit to Shanghai with the NEX 5N and the kit lens.
