Cool, I've been thinking of buying one for my N lenses. Could you write a few lines about what you think about the adapter? What do you think about the built in aperture when you stop down? Do you recommend it? Thanks.

not sure exactly why, but i'm in love with the look of this lens. i need to do a side by side comparison with the contax g 45/2 to make sure i'm not imagining things.
looking forward to that comparison

i picked up my G45 today, after it was gathering dust for some time.
IMHO, the images done with G45 are among the best in your photo collection scattered over this thread, Phillip. I don't understand why you make it gather dust.
my new Canon nFD 50/1.4 arrived today, it seems to be much more usable at f/1.4 than my Minoltas plus it has 8 aperture blades, first impression is really positive.
Great images, Phillip, and congratulation to the Canon!
Coincidentally my Canon FDn 50 1.4 arrived two days ago and I'm in the process of testing it right now. I just love these old Canon lenses on the NEX. IMO they have the best ergonomics and just perfect sizes from all lenses I tried so far (not to mention the very affordable prizes). I also have the FDn 50 1.8 (this was my main lens for 20 years on a Canon T70) which is very tiny, nice and sharp beginning at f2.8. The Canon 50 1.4 is way sharper wide open and has better bokeh judging from my first tests.
philip – very nice shots. the lens looks nicely contrasty at f/1.4. bokeh doesn't look near as nice as your rokkor shots imo, but maybe it's just the placebo effect (i do love my rokkor).
@sebboh, i would declare myself a rokkorfanboy, and sure the MC-PG is more creamy but i think i like the Canons rendering of light-points (don't know the correct english-term, those discs you get when photographing small light sources like in image 2. and 3.) more.
