And to whomever is listening, I received my Sigma 19 today. No photos to post yet, but first impressions are... this one will replace my CV 15. The build quality sure leaves something to be desired (relatively speaking), but I'll get over it
Heh, i just ordered the Sigma 19 too. Not sure if it'll replace or complement my CV15: the focal lengths are pretty different, and I like the short mfd I can get on the CV15 with my Hawk's. On the other hand, it'll be nice having a landscape lens that takes the same 46mm filters as my Contax G lenses. I'll have 19mm, 28mm, 45mm, and 90mm all covered by one set of filters.

Sebboth, great pano, reminds me of the song "Little Boxes on the Hillside" Can you actually stitch the pano in LR or do you stitch in PS? thanks joanlvh
thanks, i do the stitch in PS and then send it back to lightroom for curves adjustment and tweaking.

Yeah, the 15 is a bit wider. I do like that ~24mm AOV, but ~28 is still wide enough for my needs most of the time... and now I don't have to worry about cornerfix
f2.8, closer (native) focus capability, and autofocus are nice bonuses.
Here are a couple of quick snaps @f5.6. No artistic merit, just checking things out. Colors seem nice and saturated, sharpness seems fine.
I'll be taking it on a long day hike tomorrow, so I expect to find out more. If I like the 19 I figure that I'll like the 30 also, since it seems to have glowing reviews.
@sebboh: seamless panos, as usual. I am having serious trouble stitching with PS, specially shots with thin depth of field. The stitching is all over the place. I was hoping I could do some short depth of field stitched panos, but no luck so far. Any advice? Thanks.
@JacobD: I am so happy with the Sigma 30 that I have an eye on the 19 lens. It seems like another little winner.
@Rioni: Love your shots with the ZM18.
Another long(ish) exposure with Nex-7 and Sigmarit 30:

another great long exposure, what do you use to trigger?
the best advice i can give for thin dof panos is to use a longer lens and get farther away. parallax is a killer for these types of panos. also, telephotos will tend to have less variation in bokeh across the frame, which makes stitching easier on PS. narrow dof stitches are much more difficult in general than landscape panos without a pano head and tripod. try to rotate the camera around the center of the lens (or where you think the aperture sits) when you move from frame to frame. finally if PS can't do it i usually switch to hugin (freeware), which allows to you manually set control points for the stitch.
Well, the DT 16-50 does quite well on the NEX-7, giving a wide solution if you're willing to carry it. Only issue is the short-throw focus ring, it can be a little twitchy when focusing manually.

Sebboh, thanks for the info, I will give it a shot. I have been trying to stitch panos from the Rokkor 58/1.2 and the Nokton 40/1.2 unsuccessfully. I will give it a try with the Contax G 90 (not the widest aperture lens, but the longest focal length I own right now).
