Took a walk by the Rouge River earlier today, my second in two days (did the mouth of the river with my A700 yesterday, went north today for a hike in the woods with the NEX-7). The main lessons learned were that my 70-210/4 needs replacement, the Beercan isn't up to 24MP, that I generally prefer the NEX-7 to the A700 on a tripod, if only for the level and that for tripod work with NEX, adapted SLR lenses work better than native glass (provided you have an adapter with a tripod mount, as my A and C/Y adapters do).

Michiel,
Great photos - all of them.
Which version of the 50 Summicron do you have? That bokeh looks unfamiliar to me.
Thank you Jeff! It is a Summitar from around 1943 which had a compleet CLA at Will van Maanen and he did an outstanding job again.
I like this lens for it's bokeh but it still can be rather sharp after some PP.

Nice images of Indian Joe. I've hiked through there a couple of times, last time was when I hiked the Ohlone Trail from Mission Peak to Del Valle (nice hike in spring or fall). How is the water level in the creek? Did you have many mosquitos? I've been wanting to take the kids over there... (BTW, I prefer "CZG" )
Thanks Jacob. Alameda Creek has a nice flow of water in it and no mosquito bites to report though there was bug action when we stopped. It won't stay green with pleasant temps much longer so I'd say head out asap or wait for next year.

@briantho Henry Scherer warns on his site, that there is a "great danger of complete loss of the value of the lens" when using Contarex lenses because of aged lubricants which can lead to friction welding which is not repairable. Do you use youre lenses as they were, when you got them or did you lubricate them?
Well, the 21 is on the way to Henry for repairs. If it works out, I'll send some of my other lenses for an overhaul, but for now I don't worry that much
Not sure if this is OT or not, but just wanted to post the size differences for the various 24(5)mm combos I am using right now. Amazing the different kinds of shots I get with these two setups.
Zeiss ZF 25mm 2.8 and Pentax 110 24mm 2.8. Lensbaby tilt transformer on the Zeiss, and the expensive Kipon 110 adapter that really doesn't work out of the box (I had to shave the shim for the lens release with my dremel) on the Pentax.
