Mike & David - really digging the florals! Beautiful.
Mike - great idea to put a close up lens on the 90. Sorry, but I'm stealing that. Got the step ring ordered for my 500D after seeing those. I had tried it on my CZ135, but it works MUCH better on the 90 (I taped it on and gave it a try this afternoon, indoors, b-cuz it's snowing. Blech.)
Phillip, love the sheepies & nature shots!
C-sant - I prefer the 2nd beach scene. The bright sunspot on the first one is just too blinding for me. Maybe it's just the dim day here making my eyes feel sensitive. Is that the carnival wheel way off in the background bokeh?
So, I have had my NEX-7 + Zeiss 24mm 1.8 for a week or so now, and I have gotten rid of everything and am sticking to this camera. Love the files and crop-ability that I have with the larger sensor. High ISO stuff isn't as awesome, but I don't shoot over 3200 hardly ever, so no biggie.
This camera has allowed me to just get out and shoot without lugging around my D3 + 24-70. I'm not a pro, so this is perfect. Anyways, here are a couple snapshots that are just cropped from the camera and exported to JPEG.
The frog picture was heavily cropped from the original image and still tack sharp. I could have stopped down a bit, but I am just in a testing process right now.

Sebboh - What do you do with all those gorgeous shots? Do you sell prints or anything?
only accidentally – sometimes someone on flickr will ask if they can buy a print and i'll put a full sized version of it up on imagekind (cause it's free and seems to produce decent prints) for them to order a print. 9 times out of 10 they won't actually order a print after i put it up though. otherwise i don't do anything to try and sell prints. i think a few prints were auctioned for charity (i didn't actually go to the auction so i don't know), i've given a few to friends and family who asked, and i've printed a few for myself (don't have much wall or storage space though). otherwise all my photos are just for me to look at on screen (or 4x6 prints from film). taking pictures is just a hobby and though i'd love for lots of people to see them and buy them, i'd much rather spend my limited free time taking them than trying to promote them.
Excellent work on the last pages. Congratulations, everyone.
A couple of questions, if I may...
@ Phillip: Could you please share your sharpening routine during PP, if it's not a well-kept secret? Do you use high-pass or some kind of action involving multi-staged resizing & sharpening? Those shots just jump out of the screen and bite me..
@ sebboh: Do you plan or schedule your shoots well beforehand, or did you just happen to catch the perfect light by accident on your images on page #246? They are just too.. perfect.
@ukkisavosta sure, i copied it myself .
I used a 3-step resizing script as described by denoir in this post, i think i added some resharpening after final reduction like 0,3px 30-50% and masked out the background in some of them.
The script seems to work better with my Minolta lenses than Zeiss lenses, i have to experiment a bit with different variations of it. Does anyone have a multi-step script optimized for the Nex-5n?
@mco_970
You're welcome, but then it is an absolutely must that you show us your results

weather is difficult to plan for, especially around here. i have a bunch of shots i'd like to take and very little free time to go shoot. when i do get time to shoot while it is still light out i just decide where to go based on current weather and time of day. in the case of the shots on page 246, i had an hour left of light and saw a storm coming, so i went to where i thought the most dramatic place to view it would be. still, i had to hang out and wait for the light to be right.
WHY DID YOU POST THIS? I've been trying not to buy this lens, now it seems inevitable. I have seen a couple of posts with the Sigma 8-16that are great like this. How do you like it overall and how many did you have to buy to get a good one. Great shot, Thanks.
Phillip, thanks for pointing me in the right direction re/ sharpening. I need to do some experimenting myself!

Yes, I anticipated that it couldn't be just pure luck... I know for a fact that I never have the camera with me when the light and sky would be perfect. Up here it is also difficult to foresee the perfect weather/sky conditions beforehand, so it helps if there is a good location within an hour's drive/walk.
Great image of you waiting for the "finest hour". It sure did pay off.
