One nice thing about NEX, they are easier to handle if you are hammered vs DSLR.

Taran, great point! I think the serious reviewers should spend more time examining this aspect of evaluating photo equipment. We might get some more interesting reviews.

FlyPenFly, very nice set. You put the SZ 24 to good use, and with the HDR too. Those are some of the stronger images I've seen from that lens. The last two are my picks.

Here are a few more textures of Costa Rica. First two CV 90, last two CV 15.

Thanks Jacob, I'll actually be in Costa Rica next month, your pics are making my mouth water in terms of the photo taking opportunities there.

Thanks all.

I just googled cross-processing and did something like this:
http://www.photoshopsupport.com/tutorials/or/cross-processing.html
Actually I think the FL 135 with a short DOF is at least half the story, one really has to move back a lot to frame even a small motorbike. But I find it very hard to use on the NEX with close to 200FL - extremely shaky (I dont do tripoding). Tried 10-15 streetphotos, nothing worth to save.. :-(

Wfrank, thanks for the link, a little more complicated than my usual PP but will give it a try.

Re 135 lens on the NEX, I have a Nikkor 135 f/2 but haven't tried it yet on the NEX. The furthest I went was my Zeiss 100 MP. Its a little heavy (not 70-200 heavy though) but it adds some stability, hence more keepers. Perhaps your keeper problem with the G 90 is because its too light.

The funny thing is I find harder focusing a 25~35 mm than a 50~100 mm lens. The plane of focus just rolls by clearly with the tele lenses.

The way my brain works, it's seems logical that if someone is going to be in a camera system, they should get the unique-to-the-system lenses. Otherwise what's the point?

So as someone in the alpha/NEX/Minolta/Sony camp, two days ago I got the Sony 135mm f2.8 T4.5 STF (smooth transition focus), or as I call it the 135mm STFU.

Yesterday I used it on an A900 at St. Patrick's day festivities and in San Francisco's Chinatown. And today I tried it in the backyard on the NEX 5N with with the LA-EA2 adapter.

What's better about using it on the A900 is the 135mm

I think you should start a thread for this theory, deserves to be explored. The pics are nice too.

I wish the file was a tiff or preferably a RAW, it seems a shame to gather all that information and discard a bunch because of the file type.

I love the interior shots.

Yes, I agree it's rather stupid that in HDR mode, Sony doesn't allow RAW + HDR JPG, only JPG + HDR JPG.

Great shot. You might want to do some localized desaturation on the water for purple/magenta to fix the CA.

Where about in Costa Rica? I'm sure you'll do better than I did, my camera didn't come out much.

+1 again. A TIF + HDR JPG would be great.

Thanks FlyPenFly and noted! I just wonder if Lightroom has an automatic function to fix CA...

Loving my NEX 7 for street photography... yes, there's some magenta fringing and softness with the corners as others have reported, but it's not nearly as bad as people made it out to be.
