Yes, I've got the 2nd version with tab like Leica lenses. If I'm using ZM lenses it's not a problem but paired with Leica lenses that also has a focusing tab, sometimes you get confused on which tab your turning

Anyways, its still an excellent product. You can email hawk an order directly to him so you wont miss the batch.

@legaltrouble: as others have mentioned I think you need another body for your other lenses

@freaklikeme: I already had the pictures so not much trouble. Just needed to upload them to flicker (after wiping out the plate numbers).

Thanks, I appreciate it. I am going to have to try that Zeiss eventually.

freaklikeme, the summicrons pre ASPH was on my shortlist also, like the V3 pre ASPH but finding a mint one was a little hard and the lens was reported to have a soft appearance wide open but better by f/2.8. Unfortunately that was not the type of performance I was looking for. I have no idea about the 90 summarit though.

The 75 summarit is excellent and small, perhaps the cons are its a little near to a 50 mm.

Hmm, maybe it's a v3 I'm after. Is v1 the massive lens with the built in tripod mount? Were there two more between that and the APO? Whatever the case, the one I shot with (e55 with a built in hood, no tripod mount) was decently sharp wide open, but honestly the only time I'd use it wide open is for portraits, so absolute sharpness isn't a requirement for me. And it's plenty sharp by f/4. I picked up the Elmarit as a placeholder and got lucky because it's good enough that I'm in no rush to replace it. Of course today I went looking for hoods and discovered that alone is going to run me almost half of what I paid for the lens, so it's becoming less of a bargain.

That's good to hear about the Summarit. Are you using the Hawks adapter or is the MFD close enough for you?

Yes they are, a biggie both the v1 and v2. The v3 (E49, E55) is to be regarded better optically than its predecessor. So you have the cron v3 and the elmarit v1? Nice..

Could you post a shot using the v3 wide open?

Actually I wanted the Hex 90 f/2.8 as it was Sonnar design like the G but without the focus hassle but they seem to be never on sale so I "settle" for the summarit. MFD is still only 0.9 m so I still use the hawk adapter.

Ah, gotcha. To clarify, though, I've shot with a v3, but I only own the Elmarit. The guy who tried to sell me the v3 was a little too proud of it, given current market value (asking $2500, wouldn't go below $2300 even after I pointed out one in like condition at a reputable onliner going for $1500), but yeah, I can dig up a couple of the test shots I took with it when I get to my personal computer.

I hear the Hex is excellent, but you're right, it doesn't pop up too often.

Malkovic: nice set, like #1 and #3. Lens info would be nice.

I just got a Jena 135/3.5, in a cool Zebra type model. A shot from today. More usage and better light needed in order to judge this lens properly, but sharp it is in a wideopen shot like this - and the DOF provides some nice 3D character.

Here's the lens and a cross processed thingy inspired by sebbohs awesome car image a page ago.

Phillip, the last scene is very serene... and the G45 does such a great job capturing the fine detail.

Wilhelm, you are only making my lust for the 135 worse. If you don't stop soon I'm going to buy a Jupiter 11 (I have been holding out for the older Jena 135/4 Leica mount).
