Corposant, the 50 Cron is looking great. I've got one on order and if it ever shows up I'm going to do a Cron- ZM 50 torture test. Right now, the ZM 50 is pretty much glued to my 5N.
I doubt you'll see a huge difference in performance - more in the colors in general and rendering wide open. The ZM 50 is a great value.

I agree with you on the performance and value. However, I'm finding the ZM Planar to be a little harsh (maybe too contrasty) in closer up people pix and thinking maybe the Cron will be lower contrast and slightly kinder to skin. I was told it was a year wait for the Cron and got the ZM as a stop gap with the idea that I would shoot them head to head whenever the Cron shows up and sell one of them. I don't think I'm going to lose much selling either lens.
I have a Nex 7 on order (along with a ton of other people). Any thoughts on using a Contax 35-70mm with this body? I have seen a couple posts where some people had trouble with their adapters using this lens on a Nex.

Alan
ETA: nevermind my post if you are referring to G35-70. I have the CY version.
No problems with mine on Nex. I am using it with a Novoflex CY > NEX adapter.
However, I may convert it back to an EOS mount (with a Leitax kit) and then use it on NEX with a Fotodiox Pro adapter, EOS > NEX.
Obviously, I am using pretty good quality adapters, which may be why I've not had issues.
Unfortunately, it looks like the Contax g 35-70 has a good case of purple corners, if that's what you are referring to. BTW, the g 35 has no purple corners, but soft corners out to f/5.6 on my NEX-7.

Michelle, yes the trip!... It was great. I could have used about 3 or 4 days of sunrises with all of the great photo op's I had along the way over there from where I live. In fact I think I'm going to try and do that over the next few weekends.
Those were from Nicasio Reservoir which is close to Tomales Bay / Pt. Reyes. The sunrise had already peaked before then, but it was nice and golden and everything frosty and steamy... I couldn't resist pulling over and snapping a few shots. I have more of course... next up will be morning beach shots, followed by other trip shots, and lastly the sunsets.
By the way, we (my wife and I) will be flying into Durango on the 18th for a few days to do a meet and greet with her potential new employer. Weeee!

I can't stand it anymore so later today, I will order a 5N and try to sell my 5. In the meantime, here are a few with the zeiss biogon c 35mm on my NEX-5. These were shot run and gun style!
Nice mood :-)
I see that they are selling an adapter for the NEX to use Minolta lenses. where/how are you using Nikon glass? if they can be used I would reconsider the Nex 5 with a small "pancake" lens to use with all of my Nikon glass?
