I really like it so far. The only real negative for me is that it has trouble with WA RF lenses (purple corners and blurring), but other than that is great. The EVF is excellent. The dynamic range is very good. I've been amazed at what I can pull from shadows and highlights. The resolution is really excellent with good glass.
The only noticeable image quality downside (vs my 5Dm2) is noise. It is a much noisier sensor and requires luminance and color NR even at ISO 100 for darker images. Images handle the NR quite well. It seems odd to have great dynamic range, yet a noisy sensor, but it seems to be the case.
It's also my first NEX, so I can't really compare it to another. However, I can say the NEX wouldn't work for me without the EVF. I use reading glasses, and it's great not to have to put them on to compose an image. I tried peak focusing with the LCD in sunlight, and it was very difficult. It's easy with the EVF. Also, the detail visible in the EVF is much greater than the LCD.
Once I customized the dials and buttons, I rarely go into the menus. It became intuitive to use. There are a number of things that can be improved, but no deal killers. My top two requests are customizable Auto ISO and memorized custom settings on the PASM dial (C1, C2, C3)...
If a NEX-7n comes out allowing for quality results with WA RF lenses, I'll be first in line to upgrade!

It's always fun to shoot into the sun with a lens/camera that can handle it! Any interesting feedback on the NEX7?

One thing you may want to consider is how your DRO settings are set up. I noticed this on my X100, when I read in the manual that this magical setting allows the camera to magically create additional dynamic range in an image. On the X100, it did this by effectively boosting the ISO and using an internal curves formula to compress the highlights back into the "usable" zone. On the NEX cameras there's a similar setting (DRO) - while I know that it doesn't actually boost the ISO visibly, I would image something similar is happening under the hood. In situations where I know I can get 8 EV comfortably, I'll turn that off. For shots like the ones I posted with the 50 Cron on the last page, I'll leave it on. This can create noise in the shadows - not sure if that's asymptomatic or just the way it is.
I also have a hard time composing on the LCD in direct sunlight, which is why I rarely use my NEX between 11am-3pm. I returned my EVF to B&H because I didn't see myself needing to use it much. I think it's a little overpriced for me, given how I'd probably utilize it.

Way to put the 16 to good use. It has great center resolution.
If you're thinking about the 15, I would say go for it! It has very good across the frame resolution.
But but but I might want the Zeiss 18. I have thought about a ZF 18 so it can cross pollinate my 5D2. Size wise, I am sure the ZM would be the proper way to go for NEX. I can't decide.
I really need to see over the next 6 months or so how my 5N use works out. If I am primarily using it for landscape, I may as well sell my TS24II and put a bit of $$ into my FF kit as fast glass, and a bit into another nice piece of landscape glass for NEX. NEX is making me awfully lazy about bringing my bigger gear along, but it may just be a passing fad.

Don't think this fad will pass.
I had to take a few quick portrait shots yesterday and used my D300 and 28-70/2.8 zoom (aka, the Beast). Since getting my NEX, that rig seems to be getting bigger and heavier each time I pick it up. I can't even fathom taking a trip with SLR gear now.

Romain - love the first shot! Last one is fantastic, too. Keep shooting with the kit, it's inspiring to see such nice work from it.
Question about the CV15. Will the 2nd version that is M mount adapt to EOS? Is there much size diff. between version 1 and version 2?? From what I read, optics are the same. I could not find a definite answer about using it on 5D2, which makes me think maybe not.
I don't think any of the M mount will adapt to EF mount, but I could be wrong.
The CV 15 ver 2 has the same optics as version 1, has some sort of filter adapter which the first version does not (but a 39mm filter will work with a little McGyver action on the v1), the v2 also has a large~ish built in hood that v1 does not have. I would hold onto your TSE 24ii (awesome piece of engineering!) and add the inexpensive CV15 to your NEX. After you sell the finder on the bay it shouldn't set you back more than $300. Just do it.
Here is some flare fun with the Skopar 35. I mis focused a bit, but I don't care
The 24, well... I have a forum friend and we sell the 24TSE back and forth, same price every time. So it will be in a good home, and I'll get it back when he's bored with it and I'm missing it. It's the perfect sharing arrangement, actually.
A few with the new CY28. I thought it would feel big and I might prefer the G version, but I like this on the NEX. Looks dead sexy, too.
All of my photos below are a bit desaturated & vignetted in LR, to suit my stonewashed weekend mood.
I contacted Vern D. about his 15, and think I will have a deal for one soon. Might as well, I just added funds to my stash for something in the $500-ish range and it will be unique in my kit.
I'm not sure if this has asked before but would'nt it be better to start a seperate thread for each model of NEX?
After all there is a big difference in resolution between the NEX-3 and NEX-5, compared to the NEX-5N and an even bigger difference in resolution between the NEX-3, NEX-5 and NEX-5N, compared to the NEX-7.
This would'nt be a problem if everyone posting samples here mentioned which model of NEX camera they used and not just which lens was used every time they post...Not everyone in this thread does so it would be very helpfull for guys like me who are looking specifically for NEX-7 samples only.
