The ruins of Mission Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de Porciúncula. The Pecos National Monument, Pecos, New Mexico. (Spanish Mission church originally built in the early 1600's at the Pecos (née Cicuye) Pueblo). It helps to be there near sunset.
Here is wider, less interesting, shot (also Contax G 45/2.0): http://www.boncratious.com/images/PecosNatMonument-wide.jpg
Less interesting maybe, but it still shows off the quality of the lens and the camera. Fantastic IQ for the money IMHO. For the size also. Provided it is in the right hands, of course, as is the case here.
Are there high quality lenses that fit the nex without an adapter?
I'm looking for a 35 to 45mm f/2 or faster lens
I need a complete setup that is very compact for street shooting

Not yet, should be a Zeiss 24mm out sometime this year native mount though
If your using M mount the adapter is only about 1/4th" thick though so its almost like not having an adapter at all, especially if you just keep it on all the time

Yeah, the upcoming Zeiss 24mm is rumored to be a f1.7. We'll see. One thing to keep in mind is that, judging by the pics, it looks to be a little shorter than the kit zoom and around 50-55mm long, so it isn't exactly tiny.
If you want tiny, see if you can find an MS Optical Perar 35/3.5. When collapsed, it is only about 14mm long...including the M adapter!
FYI, I found the M adapter from Metabones to be built well, but, I replaced it with the more expensive Voigtlander version, because the Voigtlander has an excellent lens release tab that sits flush and doesn't get in the way of the camera grip.
I just recently purchased the NEX-3, and I was wondering if anyone might have any experience with Canon LTM rangefinder lenses with the NEX cameras. I was particularly interested in the comparative image qualities, size, and handling of the Canon LTM 28/2.8 and 50/1.8 versus the Contax G 28/2.8 and 45/2.

Agreed, I didn't really like spending the extra cash but it is a bit more solid product than the cheaper ebay ones and the release tab on the Metabones is very large and does get in the way of the grip
One annoying thing I should add is that all of them I've tried won't focus on infinity when the lens marking is set to infinity, usually its a bit before it, which can get annoying as focusing on a distant subject can be tough even with 14x zoom.

Thanks.
no personal experience with the canons, but i've heard good things about the telephoto canon ltms and more mixed things about the normal/wide ones. i can guaranty that the contax 45/2 will be noticeably better than the canon 50/1.8 in most respects, not sure how the two 28's will compare. something that may be helpful is this comparison of a bunch of rangefinder lenses on the epson R-D1, which has the same sensor size as the sony NEX. the testing method is roughly comparable to the test i recently did here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/978848/0
so you could kind of compare the canon 50/1.8 to the contax 45/2 along with a bunch of other lenses.
I just tried my Contax 21G on the NEX. As Lotus said, it is a superlative lens, but the colour shift is awful, much worse than on a ZM 18. I need to to Cornerfix it ASAP, and will then post samples.
I am waiting for my 21G as well! Should arrive within a week. I knew about the colour shift but could not resist. If anything I will use it for black and white.
