There was a thread about a selfmade remote switch for EOS cameras. I did a search here, but didn't find anything, so it must have been somewhere else.
The guy made the remote out of a Nokia handsfree set. The only adjustment was that some wires had to be re set. I got myself a handsfree to fit my D60, but I seem to have lost the link. I would grately apprecite if someone could point me to the right direction, or give me his/her own pointers of how exactly one is made.
Hi Sven
What type of phone has the correct connector to fit the D-60
I intend making an electronic (remote) release, at worst I can dismember my genuine Canon wired remote, terribly expensive way of getting a connector though.
As the Nokia connector fitted the 300D, I take it will also fit the D60. If it doesn't however, I will let You know...I am going to try this tonigh, when I get home from work.
I made one using those instructions, and it worked for a few days. Perhaps I'll have to try to solder something again. My fingers are just too big for those hair thin wires in there. If it doesn't hold this time, I'll get a real one..
I made the above remote release for about CDN$9, and it has slightly expanded functionality as compared to the RS60E3. However, it's not as tiny as the Nokia earpiece solution.
Not quite for me ;-) Thanks, though. I guess I'll get the cheapest canon cable I can find and cut it off. I still have the old release for an Elan IIe and if I put another connector inbetween, I can use the same (expensive) plug for both the PW and the remote release.
