Same here. For me the mini-lithiums seem like a very interesting product. I could see purchasing a couple of them to go with my 600RX's. A 600RX and lithium pack would be less power than the full sized Ranger units but it would also weigh half as much. I know there are supply issues but I would much rather see threads showing what people are doing with their PLMs and Einstein's than all of this stuff.

'Amen - Interesting observation on the Ranger vs 600RX. In fact have been bugged from day one at the limitations of teh second head - specifically the weight of the cables and the length. JTL has a portable with a lithium pack BTW - wonder how it compares...

How interesting and what a coincidence. Now like the made in TN that's really growing made in China by the minute he is not sticking to his statement. I also remember a time when according to him digital controls

How interesting and what a coincidence that you happen to come into a thread about Paul Buff products (the only threads that you post in) to try and be a troll. It almost sounds like you are a jealous competitor. Either that or you are just a Paul Buff stalker, in which case he should probably file a restraining order.

All that some people find objectionable about Paul comes to them because they "opt in" and actively choose to read his posts
unlike the hundreds of retailers who send me spam advertising items that their spyware thinks i would be interested in.
never ever got a single piece of PCB spam.
and ain't that the convectional practice of those who practice conventional marketing?

Paul, there's a simple resolution available... make a light with an internal lithium battery yourself. And a CSXCV/MC2 socket. I don't care how you label it.

Seriously, I want something I can just throw on a stand a shoot, without ANY trigger or power cords to deal with. The technology is all there, somebody just needs to do it right, and Priolite doesn't seem to be the one.

I would pay a fair amount of money for one or two of those. Just charge em up, set them up, shoot, tear em down. No chords. Have interchangeable batteries so you just swap out a battery. It would be very convenient for those of us who use strobes on the go, although I am not sure how much the "market" would really want one of these.

If you opt in to Pauls marketing emails and you like them, then that's fine. That's the way he should do his marketing but not on a public forum. You can't blame him for that here as he was dragged in rather than being imposed. My reply wasn't about that, it was more about the threat of stalkers from his existing fanatical followers rather than from any other random Joe who basically couldn't care less and who doesn't subscribe to Pauls mantra, yet can't avoid it for all the winging that goes on about the latest delivery dates, failures, breakdowns, overheating or whatever the current catastrophic topic of conversation is, even if it's being in receipt of an email to say delivery is imminent !!

It could be cured by you all going to a PCB forum, but even that deteriorated into oblivion where even the fans couldn't be controlled - and that was without the presence of non PCB users, or Trolls - however you choose to describe us users of the dark crafts.. I dare say that if PCB, Paul, Alien Bees, Einsteins, VML's, etc.. were never mentioned here again we would all be a lot better off for it.

You would be wrong on that assumption. A lot of us come to these threads to get information on the equipment which we would like to purchase. This is why we are all sick of the trolls and the fanatics and just want to be able to read about the equipment. I still need this information, and even though I have to wade through 10 pages of bullshit to find it, I still benefit from the information presented greatly. It's just too bad that people on this forum have to get all defensive and personal and can't just shut up and discuss the equipment. Drama, drama, drama. Paul Buff threads attract some of the biggest immature children I have seen on any photography forum, and they do nothing but post in those threads. But if that is what I have to deal with to get the important information I seek regarding products I wish to buy, then so be it.

Buddy, You were looking for what information in particular while you waded through all 10 pages of this thread? The Made In USA question was answered on the first page. If you were looking for more "information regarding products you wish to buy", you are in the wrong thread and should hone your search/Google skills.

Without both those groups there would be no discussion. Where the fanatics are easy to identify, the trolls are everybody else it seems.

Trust me, I didn't read through this entire thread as it is a waste of time. I got here by accidentally clicking through to it by viewing Paul Buffs post history, while seeing if there was any information about the vagabond mini. I was just dumbfounded by the amount of people who follow these posts around and fill them with shit. But I am sorry that I interrupted your trolling, carry on.

Also, not every question can be answered by specs on a product page. Its nice to know about things observed by people using the products.

And there is a big difference between a dissenting opinion and a troll. If someone has a legitimate concern about a product I would like to hear about that, especially if they test it and can reproduce the results. That is the kind of information I like to hear! It is the people who don't even use these products who subsequently end up posting the most that irk me. They fill the threads with name calling and negative responses and get all defensive while contributing nothing to the discussing.

Also, that info page didn't give me shipping information that was provided in other threads. It also didn't tell me how well it mounts to a light stand and how secure it feels, which is something else that I was wondering - these are things that come from people receiving and field testing the product. Also, if something happens to be wrong with the product (as many times there is something wrong with first run releases on new products), I wouldn't find information about that on a specs page.

If you compare all of the threads in this forum to any of them with a mention of Paul Buff in it, then you can see how dysfunctional these threads really are and how quickly they devolve, and it is always because of the same few people.

Nobody is stupid enough to be looking for that sort of info in a thread about whether or not a manufacturer is being honest about country-of-origin labelling.

Except this was all spawned by me having to read up about poor business practices and international shipping law in another thread that was supposed to be purely about updates, I was just lead here and ended up commenting here after reading one of your negative troll posts.

edit: A nice member who received one of these batteries actually sent me a personal email and was able to answer my main questions and concerns. Now I can leave you yell at eachother. Have fun! And thanks Mr. Vener.

Yes Vener spend a lot of time on forums and probably could have his own. And he did have the product at hand a few days prior to your posts so you could have asked him your questions had you not skipped the non troll posts. You need to ask yourself who got the guy who warned about heat issues banned too. You are threatening me without knowing much about what's been done and posted in the past that would validate my comments. And you don't realize the twisted side of your threat it looks like.

You're right I probably should have my own blog. I am working on it. My goal is to be as smart as KR about marketing to the masses without the misleading opinions masquerading as information.
