I'm not into Apple but I know of Guy Kawasaki. Maybe saying "you'd be way into Apple to know who he is" is too narrow - the guy's like some kind of internet legend. Like Seth Godin's an internet legend.

Not to beat this topic to death, but I'm thinking it's all in the presentation to the prospective client. Like awards that photographers win. It doesn't mean all too much to the bride and groom if you have a ribbon from the local PPA, 3rd prize from WPPI or first prize from WPJA, because those agencies mean nothing to them. All they know is you won something from somebody and so it suggests you're good ("He's won awards!", they'll say).
Use what you can, I s'pose: I saw a photographer boast on his web site "about" page that his images have been displayed on interent forums - as if that means anything

Guy Kawasaki
Chase Jarvis
Strobist
etc. etc.
and the 1 out of 100 who has heard of Kawasaki presume he's the dude who invented the "Ninja"
No really.
Not sayin don't use it... it will have the value you mentioned in terms of "awarded something" ... but ZERO beyond that. Guy Kawasaki name recon with brides = ZERO.
