I've been (very slowly) going through my images from the Galapagos earlier this year with Andy Biggs. I found the wildlife unbelievable and at the same time it was among the most extremely photographically challenging conditions. The park rules make it difficult to be on the islands at pre-dawn or post-dusk and to top it off the backgrounds are very challenging. Here are a selection of images featuring Marine Iguanas:

3 - This is very fascinating behavior. Short summary, these guys consume a lot of sea water (feeding predominantly in the ocean). To cope with this high sodium diet, they will periodically expel sea water from these ducts near their eyes. It happens very very fast and the trick to observe their behavior to figure out when they are going to expel.
Great set! I like the opening shot. The B&W conversion adds mood to the image. I also appreciate the commentary, it made the set more interesting.

Great series Aravind. You have some cool shots there. Love the mixtures of colors and B&W. #1 really set the mood, quite dramatic. #7 is classically awesome. But I really like #3, it reminds me of old times TV show "Godzilla" ... How time has passed...
Thanks guys. There were two species of wildlife that were my favorites at the Galapagos that I will never forget. The Marine Iguanas were one, the Blue-footed Booby the other. I'm already itching to go back, there are so many images one could make there if you're prepared for it.
Thanks guys. #1 and #3 are ones I processed immediately and have been my favorites for a while. Now #7 is one I discovered in my collection only recently and is very much starting to grow on me.

Shooting the salt from their nostrils was a kick to watch, but I didn't get any good photographs of it. You did, and I am green with envy.
