Bif: Cheers! Though, I really am annoyed about macro malfunction.
I will try to pick up another one.
Additionally, there is a fair amount of CA in the high contrast areas, but much less LoCA than Kiron, me thinks.

Does anyone have anything to say about the Tamron 24mm 2.5?
It's caught my eye recently - but reviews seem to be mixed. I can't tell if it's an issue between the 2 different versions that were made 30+ years ago.
All I know is that, most have compared the lens to the Nikon 24mm (2.8) - stating that the Nikon is better but that doesn't really help me much.
I have tried 5 copies and kept two. If you can find a good copy it is an excellent 24mm. I prefer it over the Zuiko 24/2.8 (tried 3 copies of that one).

cogitech, I just got the 01A and the 27A together in a set buy. I haven't had time to play with either extensively but I messed about with the 27A a little bit - just cuz it's "wide" and it seems very much alike to the images you posted here. I'll have to do a heads up between the two when I get more time. If nothing else it might make for an interesting post. :P
I owned a 27A for a while. I still own the 01A. Nuff said?

Eh, you probably just had a bad copy. Hey, I can hope, right?
I am not even sure if I access macro in the right way...:/
Need to have a closer look.
it is a little beaten up around cap mount, but lens is clear and inside is dust and mold free.
No balsam separation in elements...and no creep either.
I quite like it.
will also shoot with 80-210/103A I picked up earlier for 1.000 yen also..
Curious about 90/2.5 52BB and 90/2.8 72B - they got them both in stock in a local shop...
Bifurcator, that 28-80 looks like a nice lens. Your second photo is very nice. I'm a big
fan of 'blue hour' photos. I wish we had some cherry trees blooming around here.
Still a few weeks away unfortunately.
Edd, very nice! The asymmetric framing works very well for the subject. Oh, yeah I
saw that you grabbed the 17 (along with the 24). Glad to hear that you love it!
Just to let you know I saw KEH had a 90 Macro in EX condition as of this afternoon.
Mike, I agree with Edd. Great launch photo! I know the 60B is the 300 f/2.8 but what is a 01F?
I've heard of the 140F (1.4xTC) as well.
Thanks. The 01F is a 2x TC. There's another model, the 200F, but it seems so rare I've never even seen one for sale. It's supposed to be better, but only works with the long SP telephotos.

Mike, thanks for the answer. I've been thinking about getting one of the 60B's. I've
seen a few pop up on fleabay recently and KEH has one in EX condition right now.
$675ish seems like a bargain for a 300 f/2.8.
How is the 60B in terms of CA or flare when shooting at 2.8?

I am interested in finding a better 2x TC to go with my 60B than the 01F. The 200F is supposed to be 50% better than the 01F but as you say, its extremely rare. I tried a Nikon TC-300 on it and its was awfull...Massive amounts of PF.
There must be a TC out there that can give better performance than the 01F, thats easier to obtain than the 200F, and cheap...But what is it?
I need one in two days time when I'm thinking of going up to to London for the Royal wedding so time is short.
Picked up a Tamron 17 here on the B&S board. It's the fourth one I have owned in the last ten years. This copy is performing better than any of the previous, but those were all used on a Kodak SLR/c, which I found to be picky when it comes to wide angle lenses. It's no Zuiko 18/3.5, but I think it's a keeper anyway.

Have you tried using the Canon TC with an EOS adapter on your Tamron lens? It worked well for me.
An EOS adapter would be no good to me as I'm using my 60B on a Sigma SD14 via an Adaptall-M42 adapter plus and M42-SA adapter.
I suppose I could convert the camera end of the TC to M42, PK or M42 mount so it can fit the SD14 but then I'd still have to buy a Adaptall to EF adapter to fit the TC on the lens.
Is the canon TC cheap to buy?
