Here are a couple of Lake Cowichan photos that I think look best in monochrome. Like the previous set, these were taken with the 28-50 f/3.5 Ai-s. I'll definitely be taking this lens to California with me because of its breadth of applicability, which even includes close focus for macro at 50mm.
I thought I was done with fall colors (I was wrong); had a chance to get to the botanical gardens today and had some colorful variety, though had to manage some bright-ish overcast sky. Also had opportunity to use a few of the MF lenses that had been neglected for awhile.

Nice! Good framing and I like the compression of the 135mm. I have not been able to find vibrant colors this fall and the storms Halloween night really took the leaves that had color. Really noticed that on my trip to Virginia Friday afternoon.

Looks good (cold?), would love to play it! Lovely images.
Peter It was cool and showery with glorious sun breaks. I asked if I could walk around their grounds in the 1920s era pro shop that was mis-shapenen from age and they were very friendly. Glad I was able to capture a bit of this very beautiful place.
Below are some images from a fort located just N of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge.
Smartphones .... I had to wait around quite a bit for scenes to clear since there was a bunch of people and *okemon Go yesterday. I don't know if they actually enjoyed the beauty of their surroundings. At least they were outside I suppose, and it was nice to see families doing stuff together. Sample:

It's nice to be back in NZ with its varied scenery and much milder weather... the country has settled down a little sportswise, after taking the bronze medal in the Rugby World Cup on Friday night, and congratulations to South Africa for their convincing win over England last night, Peter must be very pleased!
Cheers and good light,
David
An understatement - thanks for the congratulations - I wasn't going to bring it up
