My Manfrotto 234 tilt head is permanently attached to the monopod. Cheap and simple. I have never had a problem with it coming loose from the 'pod or the mounting foot from the tilt head. Either way I always have a camera strap wrapped around my wrist or draped over my head as a secondary measure.
On the rugby front - I agree with your statement.

Careful, Colin!!
If England win that'll be 16 out of 43 since 1992.
I had never paid attention to rugby until this world cup and now I am just absolutely fascinated. Having watched a number of the games on TV in the last several weeks (3 or 4am games given these are in Japan), now I want to see a live game too. Turns out there's a Washington team, may need to check out their schedule. I have visions of showing up with the 200-500 on a monopod there.

Personally I'd prefer Nigel Owens to Jerome Garces for the final - that way we save on commentary
Both England and SA have beaten NZ this year and Eddie Jones is a very canny b****r who assisted us in beating England in 2007.
William Wallace would be less than happy with your defence .......
I too would prefer Nigel Owens Peter.... From a country in mourning.... my daughter's partner (a NZ born kiwi) said he needed a shower immediately after the NZ England match to "wash the loser off me".... I, on the other hand, simply take long walks on the beach with a few MF lenses in a small bag. Here's a four shot, hand held pano, with the 55mm f1.2 SC Auto, of a particularly obvious cloud over Kapiti Island at sunset..

They have already cancelled everything around here. We're under a Tornado watch until midnight, so I suspect we'll lose power at some point. Nice pic BTW.

Thanks.
Still on here. Looking at radar looks like it will come through in a couple hours. 82 degrees now and just the other side of the front is in the 40s. Crazy fall weather.
I didn't know about the tornado threat until I got home and looked at the thread. Sure there's a watch around these parts too. Let's hope this weather misses out all of us.
