Absolutely beautiful! Looks like it was a great trip.
This is fast becoming one of my favorite times of the day to shoot. A quarter moon coming up this weekend - hoping for clear skies
Nice Centre of the Galaxy! We have all but lost it during the night up north here
All 20mm Nikkor manual lenses seem to do that - I know my 20 f2.8 does, as well as my 24 - f2 and to a somewhat lesser extent, the f2.8. Its what it is
Contributing one picture after a long hiatus from MF lenses, D700 w/55 f2.8 AIS, totally forgot that I need to set the lens info, so I have no idea as to what aperture this was at. A little sunstar (probably implies f16, my usual go-to for sunstars) and lighting goes a long way in an "ordinary" setting.

So, where in the world is Reagan? Someone tell him it's okay to hang even if he's run out of cameras to sell . I'm sure he's never tried the little Nikons like this one. They are 'bad' but can mount any Nikkor.

I must say this shooting manual focus thing has been a surprisingly fun discovery after so many years of AF shooting. It is much more involving and the slowing down thing is real. I'll still be hopeless if I was shooting things that move but for my familiar subjects, I'm having a lot of fun and can see myself getting one or three more of these MF babies.
I don't think it's ever been this slow for this long. Here's hoping the sabbaticals end soon.
The one was an accident but a good one, I thought. It's been an overcast day and I had adjusted the exposure for a cloudy sky and was still trying to nail the focus when out of nowhere the sun appeared briefly. Pressed the shutter. It looked slightly 'hot' but focus is better than the others where I'd adjusted the shutter speed up. SOOC then.
Ok after too many weeks being away, I actually got out and shot this weekend.
Focusing on "textures" this month. The three in this series are from an old barn in Southern Va. Used the Leica M and Nikkor 8.5cm/2 and Nikkor 5cm/2 LTM lenses.
After a week of record breaking high temperatures with one day reaching 100 degrees and breaking the all time October record here, it was a welcome change to go out in temperatures in the 50's
