Not anymore, they are upgrading the lighting in the older buildings. The fourth building opened with LED lighting, and the third, the last time I was there, was in the process of having its lighting upgraded to LED.
And yes, tripods AND flash are allowed. Other people in there will, most times, either wait or walk behind you when they see you setting up a shot. I've also gone over and told people to get in the shots with their family and used their phones to get a shot of them all together. Only had one person that was like me, reluctant to be in a photo of any kind (There ARE photos of me but they are rare, last time I voluntarily sat for a photo is right after my husband was diagnosed, and I'm thankful I did that, since we didn't have any of just the two of us.)

Happy anniversary all! Thanks for making this a fun place to hang out.
Samy and Scott, enjoying your "duelling" takes at the Air Museum. The Dayton AFM allows tripods (as noted by Laura) but it's also quite dark in there, and it appears that the DC museum has higher levels of ambient lighting as well. The Dayton AFM is definitely worth a visit.
Enjoyed the Jodhpur series, Andy, esp the people series.
Welcome pja7.
James, good to see your shots again. Enjoyed the marketplace shots.
Ken, nice work over the Columbia River Gorge. I read up on the Eagle Creek fire, sad that it was caused by humans, but as another article said, change is constant in the forest, and this will be beneficial long term.
Always enjoy the cars, Rafael, especially with your special pp sauce and lens selection.
Going a ways back, Doug, but that 8/15 Virginia Falls pic is outstanding! Love the way the angular trees and water flow in the bottom half play off each other.
What the heck happened to lock you out of the second?

Happy anniversary all! Have learnt a lot here through many of you
Unfortunately I don't have anything to share. My other Flickr account got locked as well....
But I managed to get a contact on Flickr so hopefully I'll be able ta access my old account soon.
Have not seen these two posters together before so thought it was worth a shot. Had to stand in the middle of 5th Avenue to take this one.

Enjoy the weekend and Happy Birthday to this great thread!

Happy anniversary all! I’m still alive, sometimes it feels like barely, but I’m still kicking. Haven’t shot anything since the beginning of the year...
Happy Belated Birthday to this thread. Been meaning to get out more and finally had a chance, though in doing so I learned my otherwise good condition Non AI 24mm f/2.8 has a slightly bent filter ring... Hope to be here for the next 9 years, though I don't shoot MF Nikkors exclusively.
Time flies when one is on vacation so I missed the anniversary day. Fast approaching the 4 year mark for me on this forum - time flying again. It took a while but my photo mojo is finally returning. Shooting the HK skyline at sunset a couple of days in a row really kick started me. We had a 2km walk back to the hotel and the shoreline was a chain of peaceful protesters. Amazing energy. I spoke to a few and grabbed a few pics- albeit with a VR 24-120. Wish I had a Z6 but..... used MF maybe only 20% of the time. Will take some time to cull and process the images after we get home tomorrow.

I took a fair few shots of the skyline / light and laser show (to make into a big pano print for the wall) when I was there but man there is so much water traffic it's hard ! I haven't processed them yet either !
More from India. I'm getting confused now which pics are from where !
Anyways, this is the bicycle of the guy who goes to the Monkey Palace every day to feed the monkeys. I was waiting for them to try and steal it or ride it but alas, it was not to be ! Probably know which side their bread is buttered.
The market square with the Ghanta Ghar clock tower in the middle. It was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh (1880-1911) from whom the market takes it name.

The 50/2 was the perfection focal length to pano HK island from TST. Hope they stitch together. Yes, there was a lot of water traffic to work around. I was more interested in the blue hour than the light show. Was at top of Victoria peak for sunset too. Perched on Lugard Road lookout spot where there were others with tripods who commanded their space and more. Slightly annoying. I hope the mosquitoes bit them more than me and my son. The sacrifices one endures to get the shot! Didn’t realize I was being bitten. Should have something to share in a few days time assuming we get through the protests happening today. We were advised to leave the hotel much earlier than planned.
Yeah, I was going for the blue hour too, just as the buildings were lighting up.
Trying to stitch a 31 vertical shot pano in LR as we speak, it previewed but now LR is not responding
Kristian, the new sign in protocols are ridiculous, so confusing, I'm sharing my files atm without actually logging into my Flickr account !

Andy,
Made it to the airport. Security super tight. Now got a lot of time to kill. HK transport system is really good.
My panos are generally 7-8 shots. Yours will no doubt be a hard act to follow. Hurry up so that I can view your results in the next 3 hours......
Colin
(iPhone always wants to correct my name to colon) 🙄
Sorry to hear of your iPhone travails Colon ......
Safe flight back Colin
Andy, I never use LR for big panos .... even PS has a thrombosis when I get over 30 .... so I usually restrict to 30 as it seems to want to handle that level.
Laura .... unless something went drastically wrong for Kristian .... I have found these situations, (and I have had many) are down more often than not to PEBKAC ...... problem exists between keyboard and chair ..... you having medical knowledge will be able to work that one out.
I've been rationalising my gear to carry on my next trip to Malta and have come down to the D810 + 50-135mm and 28mm f2.8 Based on the idea that the 810 has a built in flash (not to clever - but it is a flash) I won't need to take an SB-910. I'm just trying to travel really light for a change. Though I could still change my mind on the 28mm and go for the 25-50mm f4
Confused or what ??
Just out in the garden a few minutes ago, blazing sunshine and bright flowers ..... D810 + 28mm f2.8 CRC shot at close focus range
Take the SB-910 Steve, it's better to have and not need, then need and not have. Those dinky on camera flashes are awful
And yes, being IT, I know PEBKAC too well. I also know of the I D Ten T error.. Maybe SmugMug's CS has improved some since I last contacted them.
