Peter B. May be of interest to you that this weeks “Top Gear” on BBC highlights the ‘79 Andretti driven Lotus “Players Special” with a tribute to Peterson. Driven by one of the hosts ... no silliness in this piece!
Hang in there Colin. As always, there is so much upheaval in the world and in our own lives and I understand how at times it gets difficult to keep the chin up and look ahead.
Here is a shot from some brighter (and wetter) days (sorry, link only, I need to figure out a new hosting service...). D700+28f/2.8

My wife and I drove up to Glacier NP on Tuesday for some day hiking - the day after that very unfortunate accident that claimed the life of a 14 yr old girl from Utah. To me, the Park is about falling water - snow melt, glacier melt and recently, rainfall, all making its way down from up on high. Sometimes, this does loosen things up and lead to rock slides, like Monday.
This loop took us past a couple of waterfalls and many, many smaller cascades - mostly in the shadows by the time we got there. Here is Virgina Falls near the head of St Mary Lake.
This really has been the year for waterfalls - I have never taken this many in a year before. I generally prefer the smaller, more intimate cascades - I can capture them in landscape orientation and fill more of the computer screen! It has also been refreshing to have a cooler and wetter than normal summer so the air has been much bettter. In the past we are choked out with smoke from fires in California, Oregon, Washington and BC that blow in here, not to mention Idaho and Montana - I guess that makes us "down winders"!
I wanted to mention - one thing I really appreciate with Df is not having to worry about coming on a scene with a large dynamic range and having to think about needing to consider multiple exposures for HDR. I just expose for the highlights, then effortlessly lift the shadows in PP. Also, PP is such a breeze - I rarely need to do anything more than some quick, simple adjustments and I'm done!
Are other Nikon FFs like that - esp the Zs? Not to bash Sony, but I seem to have to work harder with images from my A7RII
Sorry for the loss of the mojo Colin, I understand it for sure.

Great to see the recent contributions. It has been a great tonic for sure.
Unfortunately I have not been in a position to participate in any capacity of late (apart from hitting the like button).
I have lost my mojo big time. Life's random nature threw a major curve ball our way a few weeks ago. Just as things tick up, you get levelled. It happens to us all. Enough said.
A timely vacation with my wife and children will hopefully kickstart some enthusiasm for photography.
I have only packed a couple of MF lenses (24/2.8 & 50/2) along with a 24-120 VR into my camera bag.
Let's see if the feel of Nikon-on-Nikon in a foreign, distant land can inject that spark again.
Oh - on top of a recent family trauma we have the awful mess of Brexit to live through.
We just dodged a bullet on the potential BA pilot strike that could have affected our outbound flight later this week.
Of course we might not get home as scheduled. If we do then ground staff at Heathrow might be on strike on those dates.
Hello long queues, welcome to Britain, goodbye luggage.
I often regret not putting down roots in Germany after having lived and worked in Bayern for three years. Rant over.

Hang in there Colin. Despite buying a Z6 on returning from India I haven't had the camera out since. And was pretty much the same before our trip too.
Fortunately I've still got lots of pics to post yet !
Now that I've lost my job again, at least I'll have more time for shooting again. Life huh?
Andy
As for Brexit, jeez what can you say about that shit show 😳 Australia is looking on with bemused astonishment!

Excellent shadow recovery capabilities in the Z6. It even has a Highlight Weighted Metering option.
Awesome first shot Doug. Really beautiful.
Thanks for the encouragement Laura.
My family and I are sitting in T5 at Heathrow waiting for a gate to show. Doing a bit of people watching and starting to get into a holiday mood. 12 hour red-eye flight won’t be much fun. I threw the fisheye into the bag. Last minute decision to complement a 24 and 50. IR performance is stellar on the 16/3.5 so let’s hope I can put it to good use over the next 8 days. IR cuts thru haze and smog. Wonder if it works with tear gas
I hope not to answer that question.....
Colin, hoping your trip is less eventful than you anticipate. Looking forward to see what you get, and glad you decided on the FE at the last minute. Leave your troubles at the gate, hopefully they'll get lost while you're gone and not be found again.
