Laura nice shots from the show. That F/A 18 caught my eye!
Just learned that my spot with a good vantage point for the Sun n Fun air show has been sold and the gravel road leading to it is now gated. An end of an era for me! What to do ?

I use to buy a ticket and was never able to get under the flight formation or solo’s. Lately there is a $75 admission to the Nikon stands that get you closer to the field. My buddy did that this year and had nothing fly over his head.
My spot borders on the Winston Yards, a train yard which is the home of the “Orange Blossom Special.” The flights re-form over the long straight track and I catch them coming over.
I passed through Savannah, GA today and managed to grab a couple of quick shots. I'm definitely going to plan a weekend trip before the year is out to photograph more of this beautiful city. I only live a few hours from Savannah, but just never seem to take the time to visit.
Both photos with X-T2, Mitakon Zhonghi LTII, Nikkor 24mm AI
Nice access Laura. I'm surprised the assembly of aircraft is starting a month before the show.
Scott, that sidewalk / path shot in the trees is beautiful, amazing what can happen even in the harsh noonday sun. Looks like an inviting place for a stroll.
I'll have to catch up again... found my way to the trails last week and spent much of my free time hiking. Not complaining, mind you but when my attention is there it is not here...
Today I pulled out my camera and took a few photos worth sharing. I'll start with one taken with the 135 f/2.8 Q.C. AI. Remarkably how sharp a photo can get when one's elbow is resting on a concrete wall... but this is wide open as well which says something about Nikon optics...

Curtis, that reminds me of a saying I heard in AA: "The reason we're all here is because we're not all there."
Thanks all for your Likes and comments on my recent image posts. Here are my last two remaining unposted photos from April: the first shows some vegetation that caught my eye on the way to a nearby beach, and the second shows some picturesque tree moss by the Cowichan River. Both were shot with the 50 f/1.2 Ai-s and the Lens Turbo II focal reducer on my Fuji X-T2, and processed through LR Classic and, respectively, SEP2 and Color Efex Pro 4.
Jay did you do the cog railroad to the top of Pikes Peak. The donuts on the summit are incredible! Something to do with the altitude.
Glen the Sun Cruise Hotel looks awesome. Kind of reminds me of the cruise ship I'm about to posy!
The top deck of the Bliss has a go kart track that is two levels deep an room for passing. Was a bad light gloomy day. The track and the Grandkids #'s 3-6-9. Two brothers in competition while the grand daughter takes the lead!
I guess if those are YOUR grandkids Ken, the cruise line is working a smart angle... they know the grandparents will be booking cruises. This is one way to get an extended family on board. Not too many kids will come on a cruise for fine dining and cabaret shows...
Happy you had a great trip Ken... and that you're getting use out of that rare and expensive lens. I'm enjoying your travel photos.
So I'll drop a few more photos from yesterday while my oatmeal is cooking... First two taken with the 50-135 f/3.5 AI-s, the last two with the 135 f/2.8 Q.C. AI. We are so blessed to have these wonderful lenses with which to play. Lovely seeing what folks bring to the thread each day. Thanks everyone for the photos and for the comments/likes. There is no reason to keep doing this if we aren't having a good time... and it appears folks are doing just that!
Ray, The show was later that day, we had photo tour and photo pit passes. Got in early before general admission and crowds swarming over everything.

OK. I thought maybe it was the buildup to the big airshow later this month. Do the pits provide the best vantage points for viewing?
Great action shots Ray.
I prefer these to your previous ones.
Although I liked the close-up viewpoint those power lines were too distracting for me. I would have cloned them out.
The sense of speed - well captured.
Thanks for the feedback Colin. I can totally see your point and may try a couple others “cleaned up”. That or go to where Steve was/is and find better backdrops!
Curtis .... you are killing me with those macro flower images ..... outstanding !!
Love the Criterium pix Raymond
As for the background it would have to be where I was ..... home in the UK now .....
On the way from the Alps to the Beaujolais region (short journey of about 3 hours) I drove along the side of the Drac Escarpement ...... no road over that I could see on the map ... but it looked stunning in the sun !!
I know it's a pano .... and it will break screens .... sorry !! ...... 17 shots to make this one ....
