Back in the day this was a technique for "Glamour" shots although a nylon stocking stretched across the lens was supposed to soften the faces a bit! Now there's software to remove the wrinkles ??
Sorry to hear about the SSD problems Curtis. When I was younger I thought it would be cool to deal with computers a lot, not I just want my digital tools to work as they should without much fussing from me. Not complaining about my digital darkroom though, it's given me plenty of enjoyment, and my last build lasted eight years and 1 month, with the exception of drive replacements the hardware has been great. Software on the other hand, has had some headaches (thus the occasional thoughts of MacOS being greener) but hopefully this May 2019 build will be good thru 2027!
I'd probably be tempted to do the same thing with the LaCie SSD you have, though it'll always nag me enough that I doubt I'd use it too long in that role. Same goes for memory cards you're playing the lottery with one of those too of late (if memory serves me correctly, no pun intended)!
Just a few more from our favorite shop in Port Douglas then back to India ! Incidentally this tiny block is for sale for redevelopment for $2 million Australian. It is on the main street, Location Location Location and all that. It'll be a shame when it goes.
Heh mine hasn't noticed the Send button yet. He does think that every screen is a touch screen...

Post-ramen lunch. Wife told me to wander off on my own so I did.
Only had about 30 minutes, I ran off to the only spot I knew.
I was here a few years ago and the locale hasn't changed much.
The colours of the leaves were much more vibrant previously; guess I was at the tail end of fall season.
Yup, he's playing russian roulette with a Lexar card in his camera. I do believe Lexar will replace it under warranty... but stubborn old men.... I just hope it's just flower shots on the card when it goes Tango Uniform.

Somewhere in the forum, an FM member was listing all manual focus primes they had and was looking for a zoom. I’d like to suggest a lens I’ve used a number of times, the Nikon 75-150mm f3.5.
Its been a bit slow around here - cloudy weather returned, now we have smoke blowing in from a massive fire in Alberta - and its not even June yet? What kind of summer lies ahead?
So - reaching back to late October last year and the larch/tamarack color change at Bowman Lake on the west side of Glacier NP.
After the wedding we went for two weeks to Sarawak, the Southern province of Malaysian Borneo.
Our first stop was a few days at the coast in a tree-house. It was quite luxurious with hot shower and airco.
It was about 10 meters from the sea, but we could only hear it.
We had the most beautiful sunsets.
I already posted the pano, but then it was a not so successful HDR, this one is just a single image. I found out it's better to process a -1/-2 stop image than to make an HDR.
The fourth one is the view from the restaurant.
All with the 28/2.0 NC AUTO.
My doc knows my stubbornness too...mowing the lawn a week after surgery wasn't exactly on his list of things to do (only cause of sweating possibility, it'll melt the surgical glue, but I went slow enough to not sweat)

Fighting words Laura. I am taking it to heart, need to pipe down on stubbornness
I saw these poppies driving home yesterday and drove back to take a few photos. It was only when checking the photos at 100% after downloading that I realized a hardworking bee was doing his Spring time job. So here are a couple of different shots where the bee made an appearance... then a plain old photo sans bee. All were taken with the 135 f/2.8 Q.C. AI. Again, I'm VERY impressed with this humble lens. As I've said before, this version and the later K are reminiscent of the 180 f/2.8 AI-s with excellent color and contrast as well as fine sharpness. For a hundred bucks it is a steal...
