I have both the 5cm f2 S lens (no tick) and a 50mm f2 H lens
Just for fun I took a couple of shots using live view focusing to see if there was a significant difference . 100% crops and the originals straight out of camera. Despite the differences in ISO and shutter speed each lens seems pretty capable on the D7100
I don't have the patience or the eyesight to do detailed centre and edge comparisons a la Jose who we haven't seen lately.
5cm at f2 (I didn't stick the "horn" back correctly so it shows 2.8)
I'm back!
Shamefully, I admit that I reached out for my phone more often than the camera that's just hanging off my backpack strap...
I'm too old to be lugging camera gear, especially when cradling a sleeping soon-to-be 4 year old (weighs about 15.2kg); the X-T20 with the metabones speed booster + a MF nikon felt really heavy (weighs about 907g).
Here's one where I got sucked into acting as an organ donation counselor in a clinical role-play/simulation session for medical interpreters. Friend invited me over and it was the least I could do to reciprocate; I stayed at his place for the entire duration of the trip. Was very interesting, even considering I spoke very little Japanese.
Anyway I noticed the beautiful view of the university as we crossed over the bridge and made the mental note (and pre-visualised the shot) to stop over on our way back. I was extremely anxious as the sun began to set and the simulations were still ongoing!
X-T20 w 24/2 AIS
Was afraid the camera would tumble off the bridge's railings and onto the tracks/water...

graytrekker and beardedspoon, welcome!
Venky, there's some of the real early Nikkors (1959-1960 manufacture) whose rear lip on the mount is too wide to even go onto the Df, unless the aperture ring has been modified. For me those only fit on the Nikon F or F2 cameras.
Thanks. Looks like it needs to be modified to be used on digital as I don't use film cameras.

Just a quick note to Colin. We are in Long Boat Key just down the road from where you stayed. Took the D500 and waiting for the Z6 to arrive.
The beaches are empty because of the “Red Tide” which is not bad as it is running its course. It is a shame it strikes every 15-20 years.
Looking at some nice shots and glad that George and Raphael are enjoying there Z6’s
Colin and Ken, that view of Longboat Key looks better than Baltimore in the winter. I was supposed to be a bit south of there in the summer but didn't make it. I had all kinds of plans to go to the Ding Darling wildlife refuge for a visit and spot roseate spoonbills.
Scott, nice views at the preserved shipbuilding shop. Wow, cool tools!
Chin, quite a view from the bridge there. Glad you got at least that pic.
After such a warm welcome the other day, I was feeling brave enough to post some photos. But, I am a little confused as to how this works. When I click on the photo icon on the left of the message box, a pop-up box appears where I am to add a URL. Can one not just upload photos from one's own computer, or must it go through another site?
Thanks
Doug
Wista 45 field camera with a Nikkor-SW 90mm f8 lens. A *little* heavier than the Zs, and really only suitable for use with a tripod. The lens is equivalent to something like 30mm in the 35mm world, so this one is a wide angle. The 4X5 inch negative is about 13x larger than the 35mm (or full frame in today's lingo) frame. Sure it can be hauled to the field, along with the tripod and the film holders and the dark hood. I won't be going on long hikes with it though

Hi Doug. Do you have an Upload and Buy/Sell membership (paid)? You would need that for direct upload to the forum. Otherwise you will need to link to another location like Flickr or other image hosting sites.
