Well done Leighton. Yes, that is one sweet lens and it should surely shine on your Fuji. So you have a fine Nikon kit with the 50-135 , the 55mm micro lens and now the 28. I guess its true... kit building IS forever...
Thanks for the farmers' market photos. Sue and I got out a bit early this morning, at least early for us. We were at our farmers' market a bit after 8:30 this morning. Last week we arrived at about 11 and ALL the celery was sold at our favorite organic seller, so we made the effort to get there early today... and bought 6 bunches of celery, some gorgeous heirloom tomatoes, carrots and gem lettuce. At another organic seller we bought about eight pounds of lemon and regular cucumbers. Sue does quite a bit of juicing and always uses celery and or cucumbers in them. We are so pleased with shopping at the market. Last Thursday we met a woman who had been going to this one vendor for THIRTY years since she was a child. Now she brings her children with her to the market. There are vendors that drive two hours to get to the market. Amazing!
I know you work hard Leighton... and I know that what you do is a great service to your community.

And don't forget Nikki! Although I don't use her much. For some reason, she doesn't do as well on the Fuji as the other lenses.
Your market seems to be great, wish I could visit. Ours is slowing way down as the growing season starts to wane. We have some more crops coming if they don't drown in all the rain.
Went to the Momentum festival on Friday with a buddy, and a bag of MF lenses. Will share here as I process interesting pics.
First set, different takes on the headline performance for the evening, Orquesta Akokán (Cuban Big Band). (Edit: added fourth picture, I should show a picture of the band closer up)
1. First set, still early evening. (20mm f3.5 AI)
2. From a higher vantage point, later that evening. (35mm f2 O)
3. Wanted to tie in the performance with the headline art that was on display, the pieces from Fantastic Planet by Amanda Parer. (75-150 f3.5 Series E)
I forgot about Nikki... perhaps because I haven't seen anything taken with her of late. With the crop, 85mm becomes a fairly long focal length.. I definitely have to be in the mood to head out with a 135mm lens.
Sue checked with the market managers this morning and was assured that while the market will shrink, it remains open all year long. I hear vendors comments about this or that season ending. I've no idea what will be available at the market. I just checked online and the Thursday morning market remains open all yaer long as well. I guess we'll find out what our local farmers are up do during the winter months. In the meantime, we are definitely enjoying the fresh fruits and vegetables.
Walking thru the streets of London this morning I spotted this number plate.
Philippe - were you in town by any chance? Did you leave without saying goodbye?
My wife was bemused until I told her why.

Visited RenFest yesterday, took along the D200 and a few lenses, the 105 got used yesterday, as far as MF lenses go, though others were in the bag as well.

Thanks for likes, Leighton - sell me Nikki. Remember one of us dropped her and replaced the front element, she is likely handicapped.
The work was done by APS. I do have an extra 85 HC Auto that I had up for sale at one point, still available if anyone's wanting a sister to Nikki

Happy to hear that most everone was spared serious damage from Florence. I travelled Houston to stay with a relative during hurricaine Harvey and can relate that these snail pace moving storms are very dangerous.
Took these with the S5 Pro and Nikkor S C f/1.4, all at f/5.6. The first was from the Staten Island Ferry yesterday, which is my favorite free entertainmnent.
Came across some rich-boys displaying and playing with their toys at the junction of Pall Mall and Waterloo Place in London. Seemed to be 'Lambo' day. A danger to all other motorists and pedestrians due to their reckless acceleration up and down the streets. Sounded really sweet but central London isn't the place for that kind of thing.

APS is a good outfit, they took a mint cosmetics but bad optics 55mm 1.2 S.C and made it an optically perfect lens for $250.
I do have several 85mm 1.8, I was just trying to get my greedy little hands on Nikki. Here she would have 100+ lenses to keep her company and only Nikon cameras to mount on. (Including mirrorless)

Thought I'd try some street photography with the 24/2.8
One of those Z cameras would help eliminate the mirror slap - maybe one day.....
Hopefully Nikki stays in Leighton's hands for a very very long time, as intended by the gift.
