Added yet another lens. The 85mm f1.4 ais is really sweet. (first two), and then the next two are with the 300mm f2.8 - everything wide open all the time.
I do not own the 85mm f1,4 Ai-S because I already own the 85mm f1,4 AF-D. Still, my fingers are always itching to sell the AF glass in favor of the MF version, just to see if it is that little bit more contrasty wide open
Figured you were more of a diehard Vette person than Rafael, since he owns a Toyota ? truck as well.
One of these times you'll stop here in Dayton and I'll have the time off. Memphis Belle exhibit opens this week at NMUSAF

Ouch .... someone's prize possession had a bad day!
BUT! Speaking of Vettes we are in North West Montana, left Glacier yesterday. So far 3600 miles on the Vette. Heading back via the UP of Michigan then home. Super photos at Glacier yet to be processed!

Actually, I totally empathize since I have the 85/1.8 H, 85/2, and 85/1.4 AI-s. The f/2 was my first. After getting the f/1.8 I thought I'd sell the f/2 because it's not very contrasty wide open, but by f/4 it's quite sharp and contrasty. I just can't bring myself to sell it because it's hardly bigger than a normal lens and so convenient to carry around.

Jeff, Those Nikonos images look great. I found a mint one in a thrift store with the same lens, but sold it on the bay. For other reasons; I didn't think I would be using it...ever.
With the old workhorse F2SB and 3.5cm f2.8 S. The F2SB's light meter works just fine, and is reasonably precise. The 3.5cm lens is one of the early variants, immediately after the tick marks, and does not fit my Df, like the 10.5cm and 5cm I have from the same period. And no, I am not about to adapt it to AI.
Used CineStill Double X 200, looks sharp enough and contrasty. Not a bad all-weather outdoors film.
I was on the NC State campus last week to help my son move out for the summer. While waiting, I was able to catch some "blue hour" shots on campus. This one was at the Memorial Bell Tower. In NCSU tradition they "Light It Red" for holidays that honor our veterans, such as Memorial Day and Veterans' Day, and to celebrate NC State's proudest occasions and achievements. Seems they had it lighted for graduation week. There were seniors coming and taking pictures with it in the background.
I had a day off yesterday and managed to get out with my camera. What I did not get a photo of was a small black bear I saw at the side of the highway as I drove along (the first wild bear I've ever seen). What I did get photos of was the water at Little Qualicum Falls. Here are a couple of abstracts, of which the first was shot with the 55 f/1.2 SC and the second was taken with the 85 f/1.8 HC.
Glen, glad you didn't stop for a shot of the bear!
Continued progress. Did hoist my D700 up yesterday to get shots of Memphis Belle celebrations here. Only used AF lenses though, so nothing eligible for this thread. Weeded through the shots to see what was worth of a second look, so far about 25% warrant further peeking. Wanted to take a couple MF lenses with me, but can't hold camera up with right hand yet and I'm not gonna push my luck. Still haven't returned to work yet
Laura, you should complete the selection of 85's. Off the top of my head I can think of the two G's (really great performers) and I think a K. Maybe we'll excuse the H since you have two HC's.
Scott, I was out at the Finger Lakes couple of years back, have never head of Taughannock Falls or I would have tried to make a stop.
Nice series on the ferns a couple pages back, Buddy.
That's some intense yellow Kristian. A large enough patch that I assume it's cultivated for sale?
