You convinced me. I like lenses with character. and yes, there is a 14 day money back. Heck, the lens is cheaper than the satellite airtime I need to buy for July, something I will probably not even use before it expires.
I also heard back from Richard Haw in his repair blog that my 75-150mm has to have a loose element somewhere, so much more difficult repair. I'll try it, but I really want to bring something longer this year. The 180mm has use for me as a detail car lens, panning lens, etc - so it will not be pushed to the back of the shelf, even if I magically can fix the zoom.
I was very happy with the 16mm f/3.5 AI I got from KEH - it was rated far below actual condition. So I am off to order the 180mm now - glass looks quite clean, the rest looks like it has been in a war (time fro another DIY lens coat). Actually a pretty late serial number. My first MF prime between 135mm and 300mm. Now which lens to dump from the 10 presets?...
Yours is better glass than mine, but mine has no dents in hood and less wear on flange ears. Like yours, mine is also a newer production, near the end of the production run. Great lens! I used it on this shot which as used as a ~16x22 image on 2016 IBEW/NECA Los Angeles calendar image, chosen in a blind comparison over much more expensive Canon body and L lens versions shot at the same time! Deal done, money in bank -- nuff said!
Jay -- We're talking the last version of the ED design (see his ebay link). This lens is far superior to the classic 200/4 in all ways but weight. But honestly, I'd take this lens and leave a smaller inferior lens behind -- sometimes it's worth lugging a couple extra ounces!

f/16/22/ or even 32 for the star bursts? I really like how the triple lights turned this into star burst clusters.
I also just pulled the trigger on an X-T20. But after the eBay seller simply refunded my money without shipping me any adapter, I have nothing to put in front it!

Glad he's better. I'll be looking for you over on the Fuji forum.
Another walk with my wife and an old friend - the D300. What a great camera. All with the 135mm f2.0 ai (tubes sometimes) - still not steady, but feeling stronger.
It seems that the 16mm f.3.5 is the most popular here. What about the 16mm f.2.8? It seems to be more commonly available.
People who tried both generally agree on the f3,5 lens being far better towards the edges (wide open as well as stopped down, where the f2,8 fish never appears to become completely sharp regardless of aperture)
Not much new from me lately. I bought Ani's 55mm S.C Nikkor. Things started out rosy, and I was really looking forward to receiving that lens, and buying a Df to use it on (not Ai converted and too good a lens to cut) but shipping became a disaster. Not from Ani's side, nor USPS, but DHL seriously messed up.
In the end we were both happy that after almost 3 months, the lens was returned to Ani. I really did not feel like picking up a camera for a while after that experience.
What it took to get back my motivation was a friends son sending me a Flat Stanley
And last but not least, dispite some cold weather, snow falling down in other parts of Germany and a hailstorm we encountered today, Spring obviously makes it's way in to these parts of the world
