Thanks George for the suggestion. Do they fare well in the rain too?
We have a rainy winter in store for us apparently...
The "Stretch" model is advertised as waterproof/windproof barrier on the back. I have worn them in the rain and snow, but not to the extreme elements. Would probably not have my camera out in that anyway. But I have not had any issue with them. They are not the warmest gloves I have had, but for the tradeoff of being able to get your fingers out for not only camera, but phone, etc. they are not bad. I wouldn't try making snowballs with them
I just got thru cleaning my lens after vacation
The salt air always leaves a fine mist on the front
For some reason I decided to clean the rear flange instead of just wiping it off and was amazed at the dirt that was there
I wouldn't be surprised if thats where most of the sensor dust comes from

It keeps snowing and snowing.
Weather alert "red" and people are advised to stay at home (I did ).
Still over 1500km traffic of jams (almost twice as high as the previous year-record), cancelled flights, less busses and trains.
We're definitely not used to this kind of weather.

I may have noted where you live Max, but the fact slipped my mind. Perhaps if you're old enough we passed one another on the street one day. I grew up in Richfield, graduated from the University of Minnesota, worked for Cargill downtown Minneapolis briefly and then for Ford Motor Company at the Twin Cities Assembly Plant in St. Paul near the river. Regardless, we've shared the experience of growing up in what is really a beautiful region cursed with a climate that is at times brutal. But I have heard from my nephew who still lives in Shoreview north of St. Paul, that winters have been quite mild of late. I guess if global warming really is happening, places like Minnesota will appreciate the milder winters. Unfortunately, for those of us in California it could mean drought and an extended fire season. Of course, it ultimately doesn't matter since whatever the climate, those of us still above ground will need to find a way to deal with it all.
By the way, I did pull an engine out of a 1955 Chevrolet in January in an unheated garage. I don't believe the temperature ever got above zero and I know most mornings it was over twenty below zero. That experience has doubtless colored my attitude toward winter... ...Show more →
Ugh. I now have a garage heater. Garage isn't insulated, but I can use it in a pinch.
Hey, quick question for you and any others on this thread who would like to chime in......I just bought a used Df here today, and I am interested in decen't older MF lenses. I don't really have any holes in my AF lineup, so this is definitely more want than need. I shoot mostly wide angle. Are there any sharp and inexpensive pre-AI gems out there I should know about?

I love my Nikkor-O 35mm f/2. It is, by far, the my most used lens on my film cameras.

In order of price/quality, most quality for the least price:
24mm 2.8 N.C. $100-200 mint
35mm 2.0 O. an excellent lens for $100 to $200 mint
20mm 3.5 UD $200-300 mint
35mm 1.4 N (has brown tinge though) $400-$600 mint
If you find them for less, more power to you.
If you really want to go on the cheap, then buy the 28mm 3.5 for $75 or so, it is actually a decent lens but not on par with those above.
