Yesterday marked the end to our farmers' market. It also marked the end of our 20th year as vendors. I thought it was apropos to finish with the 50-135mm.

To follow on Leightons nice series, here are the last of the fall images from Letchworth. These were taken a couple weeks ago and this scene is much more wintry this morning. First two taken with the 25-50 f4 Ais and the third with the 18 f3.5 Ais. Thanks for looking and get the hats and gloves out!
Scott
The fruiting treelet (4m height) and its fruits that attracted so many bird species:
All with the V1 + FT1 + Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 ai-s hand held, ISO 200.

Mounted the 85 f/2 AIS on the Df this week. Not too happy with the results though. Do not know if this is sloppy technique(cold evenings) or the lens to blame?
Results on the D7k in the past and D800e had never disappointed so far
That's a great set Leighton. I suppose it's still a little warmer your way, the farmers' markets around here closed a few weeks back. I think they stay open long enough just to get some of this season's apples.
Beautiful set Scott. I'm surprised to still see so much green in the Letchworth Falls shot in the foreground, even two weeks ago.
Jose, first class birding shots as usual. That fruit looks very inviting.

I thought you were dead. Welcome back.
As has been said, any day ABOVE ground is a good day...
I've been having good days but alas none of them have involved using a camera. But the light is so lovely this time of year I was drawn to the Df a couple of days ago and did what came naturally... take photos, process photos, upload photos and finally share them on the thread.
Congratulations on another successful market year... amazing you've done it for twenty years, especially this year with medical challenges along the way, first for you and then for Barbara. Sue asked about Barbara after seeing something on Facebook. I understand she is doing well and what might have been serious has turned out not to be. I was glad to read that on your website. I also saw a photo of you holding one of your grand babies. You're a natural Leighton. Sue is all excited at the moment because very close friend whom she first babysat when he was months old had his second child a day ago. She's already shopping for baby clothes! Something entrancing about babies, at least for some people.
Enjoy what remains of autumn, since winter will surely follow and there is no telling what that might bring... expect, as you say, we can count on Scott getting snow...

Thanks Ray. We used to close the end of October, but why waste a chance to make a few more bucks when it's relatively warm until Thanksgiving around here.

Thanks. Glad to see you back, your children get worried about you.
Barbara had to have a hysterectomy. They did it robotically and we were in and out of the hospital in 5 hours, remarkable! Also had number 3 grandson a month ago. )
I'm sure Sue is dragging you with her to shop for baby clothes, all good. Don't be a stranger.
Peter O, - I've definitely been thinking about you the past month as California recovers from devastatingly fires. I imagine you've seen news reports about the fires in northern California this October. I believe the count of deaths related to the fire is 43. I read that 6,600 structures were destroyed over 5,000 of which were homes. One neighborhood in Santa Rosa lost a thousand homes.
Sue and I are going to make a contribution to the local economy by driving north to Sonoma this afternoon for lunch and a bit of shopping. There have been news stories urging folks who apparently have been avoiding the area because of the fire damage to return to support local businesses.
This has been quite a year with hurricanes in and around Florida during Sue's visit and then massive fires shortly after her return. Imagine, with so many homes destroyed home prices are rising dramatically, that in an already very expensive housing market. Hope recovery is going well in your hometown my friend.

Ah, the joys of online shopping. Sue showed me the things she'd picked out at Amazon, delighted she could shop without needing to get into her car. Of course, I ran into a woman yesterday who had a shop in downtown San Anselmo until a few years ago. I mentioned her shop and she launched into the difficulty of keeping stores alive in the era on online shopping... something you doubtless know about as a downtown merchant in Staunton. The world is definitely changing, though likely not so much for folks selling fresh produce. Amazon may do some creative things with their recently acquired Whole Foods Market, but I can't imagine they'll ever be able to compete with farmers' markets... Time will tell.

Hope everyone is having or had a good weekend. I will post a little nocturnal fall color to the thread. Maple leaves backlit by my yard light.
Another from the S3 rangefinder, Ilford 400 B&W. These docs came charging to the fence and this was the last picture I took and then got gone! Just one of the many interesting things that happens while out driving back roads and spelunking for photos.
