My linear tracking direct drive Sansui needs a new belt again - about every 2-3 years I go to the hardware and pick up a black 2 inch neoprene rubber band for my "Direct drive turntable" - sheesh. So I fired up Winamp and my Coltrane playlist was playing just fine until I heard Stevie Ray Vaughn's "The Sky is Crying" then ever so often another SRV track would play? All the metadata says it's Coltrane, and the thing is - I like the mix.

Nice shot of the pier. Does the camera have any sensor-cleaning feature? Maybe you cleaned the image before show it to us. I don't see any dirt on the image. My computer screen however...

Today was an interesting day, photographically speaking. After a busy day yesterday we were hoping for a peaceful snowy walk though our usual woods. My "equipment manager" told me to take the 105mm. Who am I to argue? As I was putting lunch in my pack she suddenly said something like "Oh wow, look!" and pointed out the kitchen window. So I ran over and looked. Two, count 'em, two Red-Tailed Hawks perching in a back yard tree. So I grabbed the camera which already had the 105mm mounted, managed to get a few shots though the window screen and glass before one and then the other took off.
The rest of the day was peaceful, just as we hoped it would be. From our picnic spot:

I just received my GFX 50S back from a full spectrum conversion at Kolari. Went out for walk with the IR720 clip in filter and wanted to see if the old Nikkor 75mm f/2.8 for Bronica lens had any hotspot issues shooting IR. Happy to see there are none! This was shot with the sun just to the upper right of frame so was really pushing the limits for performance.
This just converted to B&W and ran into Lightroom for the border script.
Great Tones! Also stop it. I’ve been wondering about the older GFX50’s…

Thanks! Second time owning a 50s. I upgraded to the GFX 100 II the other year, but went back to the OG 50s with the larger pixel pitch. Don’t get me wrong the 100 II smokes the 50s but I think the larger pixels and lower resolution of the 50s handles these old lenses better.
And you would be surprised how well some of the Nikkors for 35mm format cover the 44x33 sensor. Fast primes 50 and over do well and if you crop to 4x5 even better. Of course you can also just shoot 35mm mode in the Fuji too.
With this full spectrum conversion and the magnetic clip in filters in front of the sensor means not having to deal with individual filters for lenses.
I got the IR720 filter, OEM Hot Mirror filter for standard shooting, and UV/IR Cut (H-Alpha Pass) for night sky shooting. So basically 3 cameras in one now.
Not that I am trying to entice you to doing anything

Looks great George.
Dark skies - check
inky black water - check
white foliage - check
Ticks all the boxes for me - except I won't have foliage for 3-4 months here

Very nice George.
Upping the ante on IR capability/resolution.
Looking forward to seeing more from you with this combo.
Nothing competes with Fish and Chips on your side of the pond. Yet I always order here in the US and am always dissatisfied. Working over there in the 90s spoiled me
