Isn't the 105mm f2.5 the Nikkor manual focus gateway drug?
I used to say that the 105/2.5 was justification in itself for owning a Nikon body. Now that Nikkor lenses can be fitted to most any body with an adapter, it's no longer true. But it really is a wonderful lens.
BTW, the reason I've not been posting lately is that I was diagnosed with cervical spine degenerative disease last November. That explains the pain and other symptoms that have been increasing for some time. Referrals from my primary care physician have been essentially useless other than the diagnostic X-rays and MRI. I've been waiting almost 4 months to see the pain management clinic. My appointment was cancelled last week, and I was told that it would be at least another month before any appointments are available. The specialists dealing with actual treatment options are not even taking appointments until May, so 6 months waiting to even schedule something.
This is the fucked up medical system in the US now. I make no apologies for my language.
With all the 105mm talk, I must post this photo, there are several 105mm 2.5 in many variations, starting with Rangefinder, of which two LTMs are shown here, the non-ai, ai and ais, plus the 1:4 micros witch are excellent, a regular and a bellows mount are shown here.
The old Vette has been worked on, cosmetic details, new ignition, seals here and there, new control arms, new tires; the old ones were inexpensive cooper cobras, they look good but rider rough and do not hold their shape over long lives. Bridgestones are much better.
She is driving and riding beautifully. I am in the market for a big block C3, but so far found only too pricey or too rough.
Went to the Doublepeak north San Diego County viewpoint. 5cm 1.4 RF and 15mm 5.6 ai.

Ken, I wish we had universal healthcare here. Not only would it serve more people, but it would cost less than this current system. We are the only civilized country on the planet to not care enough about it's own citizens to invest in their care - except in certain circumstances.
I would try to get your primary care doc to refer you to another pain management practice in the Portland area through an online portal. There are a handful of ones with high ratings.

My used C4 had these huge wide Goodyears, and I could feel every crack in the road at slow speeds. Same dealer called a few years later with a used C5, and the upgraded suspension GM did was a vastly superior ride. By that point I had decide it was the dumbest purchase I had ever made - for a host of reasons that had nothing to do with how good a car it was (It was great) - so I sold it. Barb and I used it for our over-due honeymoon, and date car for about 12 years. Most of the miles we put on it was giving the 7 kids rides almost every time we were going to use it for a date.
GM employee traded it in with 6900 miles on it to a Lexus dealership - it was in their new car showroom

28/2.8 AIS is a contender as well.
As I was using cheap Nikon AF zoom when I started to think about trying manual focus Nikon lenses, for me it all started with 25-50mm f/4 and than 50-135mm f/3.5; but my third one has been the 105mm f/2.5 AIS and the fourth one the 28mm f/2.8 AIS.

No need to apologize for your language, I get it. And you're right about health care in this country. I hope you can get this resolved, sooner rather that later.

Ken, this messed up health care system is the reality our screwed special interest driven politicians created, it pains me to see you suffer the consequences.

Jim, this C6 is the dumbest purchase I ever made, still have it as insuring with Hagerty is cheap and the car is long paid for. It is an excellent car and rides well, but I find the C3 way more fun as it rides and sounds as a motorcycle and brings forth a lot of friendly faces. Once and if I find a good C3 big block car it is the C6 that will be sold, its sonly real advantage is freeway and long drives but for that my RAM pickup is far more comfortable.

All of them are great lenses.
Great family portrait! I always wanted a bellows-mount 105 to go with my PB-4. Looks like you need to locate a UV-Nikkor 105/4.5 to complete the set! Though always rare, they used to be not much sought-after and could be had for about what they went for new, but are now WAY more expensive alas.
