This is the same scene 2 hours later D500 plus 80-200 f4 at f8 It is quite possible to have 4 seasons in a day in Knysna - one of the bonuses of living at the Southern end of Africa

Thanks. I no longer have the 200mm, but my recently acquired 180/2.8 is fabulously sharp so plan to stay with that focal length.
Thanks Ray and Ross - I'm actually really pleasantly surprised at the quality of the images produced by the D500/300mm combo I think they're better than the Z5/300 pairing and the crop sensor makes these close ups easier to capture
