I didn't mention that my Z5 met with an accident when a gale force gust blew it and my tripod over. It's in for repair and I'm using the D500 for more than wildlife with a long lens. As part of my education with the camera I've done some more barcketed shots, this time with the 28-45 f4.5 Zoom which is in near mint condition.

Z7 II, Zoom-Nikkor 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5
This round looks very nicely decorated. Quite a nice memorabilia piece.
I use a (modified) .50 BMG round to store the tungsten electrodes used in TIG welding. It's now a nice keychain

It's a 300mm f2,8 ED-IF Ai-S that I picked up some years ago. It's a bit unwieldy, so I do not carry it all that often
Very nice "not so little" lens. Always thought about looking for one of Nikon's super-telephotos, especially as the prices for non-AF lenses have plummeted, but then I think back to my AiS ED-IF 180/2.8 and the word "unwieldy" does come to mind a little too quickly. I am very happy with my recent Voigtländer 180/4 purchase in that regard, but the thoughts of a juicy-cheap 300/2.8 (or dare I dream, a 200/2) certainly tempts: Nikon Gear-Acquisition Syndrome is a lifetime disease..

Serge, didn’t get to comment, but that bath house a couple pages back was outstanding. Huss, same for your B&W film work, especially the light on that tree.
A couple Nippi test shots. Center crop at f/4 and corner at f/8 vs the K mount 85mm f/1.8, mostly out of curiosity. Edit, andded central crops at f/1.8 - f/2. And a couple regular shots from a recent morning.
Thank you for going to the basement and showing us this enchanting "bath"

The Baths of Maria de Padilla:
Islamic origin built in the 12th century designed to collect rain water for the Alcazar of Sevilla. Enter Maria de Padilla, mistress of the King of Castile, Pedro I. Maria used the drinking waters for bathing and in the process, made them famous.

The problem with sunsets in the mountains, sometimes you only get the Golden Light through the gaps in the other peaks.
Can you see the waterfall to the right halfway up the mountain ? Would love to fly my drone up there. There's actually quite a bit more snowy peak behind those clouds on the right. Full res on flickr.
The 180mm f2,8 Ai-S is actually on my wishlist, although I always compare it's usability with the 200mm f4 micro Nikkor and the 80-200 f4 Ai-S zoom. The latter holds less interest for me now as it did in the past. It's a beautiful zoom with a 1,2m MfD, so in a pinch it does excellent close-ups. I have dedicated options at 135mm though, and now that I frequently use the 35-70 f3,5 Ai-S the 80mm short end of the zoom also holds less of an interest for me.
For 200mm that then leaves the micro Nikkor and the faster 180mm as alternatives. MFNAS is a fact
