I know this gets repetitive, but every year the end of spring is marked by the humble ground cover blooming, I find it enjoyable as my gardening is otherwise colorless.
1927 White (also owned REO, Diamond T, Autocar and Sterling)
The White Motor Company was an American automobile, truck, bus and agricultural tractor manufacturer from 1900 until 1980. The company also produced bicycles, roller skates, automatic lathes, and sewing machines. Originally produced steam powered cars before changing to gasoline power.
A 1907 White steamer was one of the early vehicles in the White House when Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, allowed the Secret Service to use the car behind his horse-drawn carriage.
In 1909, president William Howard Taft converted the White House stables into a garage and purchased four automobiles: two Pierce-Arrows, a Baker Electric, and a 1911 White. This $4,000 car was one of the last steam cars produced and proved a favorite of the President who used bursts of steam against "pesky" press photographers !
What an incredible collection at that place! Thanks again for sharing those Andy!

We have been racking up frequent flier miles, train miles and specially foot miles the past couple of weeks. Along the way, managed to take a few photos.
Started with Sevilla which is a very special city with awesome historical monuments and gardens. It is a colorful, festive and young city with lots of excellent tapas and restaurants. The Spaniards were great with us but some knowledge of Spanish is very helpful.
Setas de Sevilla, completed in 2011 and It is one eye catching design constructed entirely of wood. More on this big guy later.

Wen I was a young man, in the 60s, we still had a chain drive truck with a bulldog emblem, maybe a Mack, it was a water truck that only had to travel two miles from the coffee mill to the water wells - that is why it lasted so long.
Serge,
The stresses on the Setas de Sevilla during high winds must be incredible. I saw an aerial view, and the stairs leading to an observation deck. It is HUGE! Maintenance must be constantly ongoing, but it is beautiful. Thanks.
Jim
